Thoughts and proposition...just something for people to chew over in their minds.
I think there needs to be a better understanding that not everyone can always make it to the meetings. Things come up like work, being called into work unexpectedly, having reliable transportation, distance, family events, sickness, injury etc etc. Then there's the situation of living close to the meeting location, but being too young to drive, or unable to drive by yourself or not owning your own car, how do you expect them to make it?
?
Asking parent's won't always work. Not every parent feels that cosplay and anime conventions are a productive use of time, and don't want to put forth the effort to driving someone, and "wasting their time and money" on it. One more problem though, not everyone has a webcam. So Skype isn't always the best way to communicate with people, or their internet connection won't fully support Skype.
Since you guys are working on getting the Facebook page up, I propose this.
The people who can get together at the Pizzeria should, you can Skype to the people that are able, and THEEEN.......You have someone to take notes on the new ideas you guys want, and the opinions as to what happened last year, and then you post them on the Facebook under "Notes" so everyone who couldn't be there, or can't support Skype/No webcam, can see what happened. This way, the people who weren't there can give their ideas/opinions on the matter through Facebook.
What do we think?? I don't think there should be a HUGE amount of pressure on people who can't make it, it makes us feel super bad that we can't be there.
