We watched it at school today, and it was amazing. And at first I thought it was some gimmick-y school spirit day. **
I wish we could've done more for it. All our school did was wear white, but we talked about a bunch of global volunteer projects we're going to start...

Peace Day was started by an organization called Peace One Day.


That organization was started by ONE man. ONE man made the world recognize peace day internationally.



I don't know if all this means much to any of you, but I found the film very inspiring. It made me proud.

I would guess the date was picked for Fall Equinox, representing darkness and light being in perfect balance, and accepting a change of seasons?

I'm not exactly sure. It's just the day the UN decided, but that could have been there reasoning. It would make sense. ^_^
Our school showed a video and made a human peace sign. We all signed peace pledges and put them up on a wall, and we've sold buttons (I made like half of them  ). I am surprised by how successful it was!
And we should definitely have a meet! That'd be really fun. ^_^

And agreed.
For a long time, I worked for PeaceWorks, & coordinated such events as commemorations of the bombings of Hiroshima & Nagasaki (may all atomic bomb victims rest in peace), which included Taiko drumming, Obon dancers, and Hibakushas (bomb survivors).

That's really great! This would have to be something really diverse, and I think it would be really great if more than the average meet-up people went. But a year seems like a long time away for planning, though! XP
