You made my brain crash... With awesome!
("That's poetic. It's pathetic")
:P

in case none of you have noticed, I've been on a 'Rent' kick lately :D

So. I want a couple of Winter photos. Like, Jamie, 2, and Polly sitting on a snow covered hill.
Then to post it on dA going "Happy Holidays from the Doctor, Jamie, and Polly"
Just a dream.

A bunch of my actor friends were in a performance of 'Rent' and the songs made me feel better, so I started listening to them :P

Yes, happy anniversary of the first airing of Doctor Who, all (1963, right?)

Loving the idea of Doctor Who pick-up lines.

Going to have to shy away from saying "It's bigger on the inside", though. That's just too much. ;)

It would so make me ROFLMAO if someone randomly kissed someone, then told them, that's nothing, it's just a genetic transfer.

Or someone says hello, all saucy-like, someone else says there's a time & a place. Then I was just saying hello, then, from you, that's a pick-up line (or whatever). :D

Hey guys, listening to Glenn Miller songs on repeat makes me do funny things.

This has suddenly become a serious costume consideration for me if I ever manage to get fit.

Good idea, Y/N?

I love it. I don't see why we couldn't RetCon (unless it's canon and I just haven't gotten there yet; I'm through "The Sontaran Strategem", so far) and have there be a female Face of Boe along with a male one back in Captain Jack's childhood :D

Toldja.

So, I have no idea how to motivate myself into making this freaking coat. I need to finish it by the meet-up next month in order to get pictures of the finished costume. Perhaps the Christmas Special next week (OMG IT IS NEXT WEEK :DDDD) will motivate me? I still have to dye the lining a darker green and hope I don't put tracks in the velvet when I sew it. Grr.

Also, just re-watched 'School Reunion'. The Doctor and Rose made me wibbly ; 3;

If anyone can be in Portland Saturday the Portland Science Fiction Society's monthly party has a Doctor Who theme (which the host says was specifically inspired by our Tiptoe Through the TARDIS panel at OryCon, woot!). British-food potluck + Whovian meetup + hottub & sauna in north Portland...about 20 minutes from the Kumoricon meeting / party in Tigard, if anyone is going to that.

I <3 Anthony Head so much I actually sometimes set it up to fall asleep to Confidential Cut-Downs, his voice is so dreamy. Well, except in parts of Repo *shudder* ;)

What meet-up next month?

Er, yeah I'm wiggin it's the end of the year already. Please slow down, world! I am so not ready.

I'm probably abandoning my Cassandra project given I already got injured working on it and can't figure out how to make the eyes & mouth work & got too sparkly of material & have to give back the rolling rack at some point. But at least now I've seen so many other eps I have tons of other ideas.

I don't have cable...does BBC put new eps online?

Wrote a couple new filks for the MEW Who panel.....anyone going to MEW?

Yeah, and now I'm halfway through 'Army of Ghosts' and 'Doomsday' and I know what's coming and that makes it even worse ;^;

So I've given up trying to dye my lining fabric for this coat any darker. I'll just have to do it as-is and hope it looks good in the end. Still hoping I'll find a fob watch somewhere (why must you be so cruel, internet) but beyond that I just need pants and shoes and maybe a coroner's toe tag and I'll have a serviceable costume for the photoshoot meet-up in Portland next month. If it happens. Which I hope it does.

Allons-y, then :3

I've been listening to Once More, With Feeling (aka The Buffy Musical) to prep for our "Whedon-Verse" panel /sing-along and love "Giles" on that. Wonder if it was specifically an homage to Buffy that the Who ep in which they cast him was set in a high school. And *nod* yep, went through that with Donna. A testament both to Catherine's acting and to amazing writing. Totally heartbreaking at the end....Oh and I love Wilf. I could totally see trying to find a white wig and reindeer headpiece for when he convenes that wacky crew of seniors to find 10.

...Just as a question, but Rem why do you put random things in quotes? I've been trying to figure it out and I'm curious.

Neither Giles nor Whedonverse need quotes around them...

So, though I likely lack time to get them together before our MEW Tiptoe Through the TARDIS panel, my new cosplay goals are: Mercy Hartigan / Cyberking from The New Doctor and the Dalek Sec Hybrid from Daleks in Manhattan.

I love Anthony Stewart Head <3

Me, too....Been watching Buffy Season 2 this weekend......Whedon-Verse was in quotes because it's the name of my panel/meetup, with the emphasis on the 2nd word, in that I'm encouraging a sing-along of the songs from within the Whedonverse canon. I'll try to remember to not use quotes, though.

Hey guys!
So I know I haven't been very productive when it comes to working on my Two cosplay, but that's because I need some inspiration!
How does a photoshoot sometime soon sound?
The way it is looking, the majority of the Whovians on this forum live in Eugene, I'd say that that's our best bet location wise.
When works for people?
If we could do a beginning of the summer thing (at least) I would be content.

Out of the NuWho Doctors, if I absolutely had to name a favorite and was put on the spot, I would say 9. Episodes like The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances made his tenure as the Doctor absolutely fantastic.

That said I have no favorite. That would be like giving me a freezer case full of Lochmead ice cream and telling me to pick a favorite.

I actually just bought a manageable gas mask replica to be The Empty Child if I can find clothes that resemble those British schoolboy clothes that fit me. The resale shop search shall commence before the end of the year.

And Ritchie I'm with you plus 9 went out on such a positive note and was in a positive space with his regeneration.

Merry Christmas guys!
Of course, because you guys are great and Whovian-tastic, your favorite part of the holidays, is the DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL. Which is being aired today.
Although I don't have any way to watch it, I'm still equally excited. (It's a season of miracles, maybe I'll find some way to watch it)

Seeking same miracle! My dad is DVRing me it but is back east. *insert requisite lament of lack of TARDIS here*. What is everyone's fave Xmas special? While obviously The Xmas Invasion proves ultimately important, mine is The Next Doctor. I loved the performance of its guest star, his saving the day, the Steampunk ambience, and aspire to cosplay from it. Oh and for my MEW Who panel I wrote a filk about the Xmas specials.

I can't take The Next Doctor seriously anymore now that I've watched Blackpool. David Morrissey and David Tennant are both in that, and it's a musical crime drama. Yeeeeeeaaaaaah. Fantastic, but you can't watch those two in much else without snickering every now and then.

Merry Smithmas, everyone! Doctor Who at the PROMS is on at 1PM and Matt Smith is on Graham Norton right after the Christmas Special.

And if you can't watch any of those on the telly, the Christmas Special is more than likely going to be streaming at any number of places on the internet and will more than likely be available for download within an hour of its being broadcast.

It totally worked. My dad loved The Proms so now he's DVRing a bunch. He's finding the eps with guest stars he recognizes and watching them out of order *facepalm* Apparently David Morrissey was in Sense & Sensibility. Well my dad's 1st ep was Planet of the Ood then Runaway Bride. One of you has a dad who cosplays, are other parents supportive? This is a huge anomalous breakthrough for my dad who has historically not matched by fandoms.

Rem: Could I ask you to do your best not to double post? You can go back and edit your old post, and I wish you would use that to your advantage more often >.<

Richie: ...Musical? Link me?

I'm sorry to say I haven't managed a miracle yet, but I'll just download it.

I'm a huge dork, right?
I really like planning things really far ahead.
Since Doctor Who day (November 23rd) is a Wednesday, I would like to plan something either the weekend before or the weekend after.
Mostly because I didn't do anything but wear my Dalek shirt and make Doctor Who references with Analee all day this year.
SO.
WE SHOULD PLAN A REALLY COOL PARTY.
I would offer my house, but I live really far away.
I also think that we should watch like a bazillion episodes of Doctor Who and make terrible Doctor Who references the whole time.
It sounds good to me, does it to anyone else.
tl;dr- We should have a Doctor Who Day meet up on the 26th of November in 2011

ARG ARG ARG
I WANT TO WATCH IT
*cries*

Butbutbutbutbut
My mom said she would be Harriet Jones and my Twin photoofher agreed to be Leelah!

Also: It would seem that Amy isn't going to do four. I messaged my friend Corey to see if he'll do it. If not, we're going to have to journey for one.

Sorry can't edit from my phone but yes. Nov. idea is a good one but I may be at Chicago TARDIS. In addition to enjoying tonight's special, the interview after & what I saw of the proms, I LOL'd the TARDIS commercials & next season promos. Tonight's special clearly echoed the Torchwood with Tosh's....oops better not say til more have seen it.

I couldn't watch the special. I will hunt for a download tomorrow, but I'm too tired right now. However, if anyone can link me to a dl, I would love you forever :D
