YKWGMG? Lately, Apple.
I've been a Mac person for two decades because of my perception that the Mac OS is a lot less intrusive than Windows. (I suspect that's why most of us stick with it, despite the fact that the boxes are considerably more expensive.) So what did they start doing several months ago? Demanding that I re-install Safari, poxy ad-ridden crashprone piece of app that it is, otherwise they wouldn't let me use the iTunes store. Okay, fine, whatever. I didn't buy there for the most part anyway, because they rarely have the stuff I want.
So what do they do with the latest update? Start demanding that I re-install Safari every time I click a song. What the #3!!? It took most of an hour of experimenting to figure out how to make it stop. (It involved disabling the iTunes store entirely.) I would've had to switch music software and eventually needed to buy a new MP3 player if I hadn't found the setting, because it was pretty much unusable.
Is mandatory browser "market share" really worth pissing off your core customers, guys?
