What comes first for you?

Real life? Looking for or participating in college? A job? Close friends that you get to see often?

Or going to conventions, cosplaying, watching anime and reading manga?

How much of your money do you spend on these hobbies a month? If something comes up in life, like your job really does need you for a weekend or you have a project due in school are you going to blow it off and go to con or stay home to take care of it?

Just out of curiosity.

I'm kind of on a priority vacation right now, I don't have a job yet, and I only have three easy highschool classes. When I get to school early I finish homework, work on scholarships and applications, sketch, or read. The school play's just started production and I'm on costumes so I'm sure I'll be getting busier pretty soon, haha.

I like hanging out with my dad, and visiting my mom and bro in Vancouver as much as I can. I don't have that many close friends in Roseburg since I kind of go through cycles and get sick of people after a while but I hang out with my skilet Maddy often and we have oodles of fun  ~

School is pretty much my top priority, I stress about it all the time and it's the main thing on my mind at any given moment. The only thing that ever trumps school is my family, making sure everything is okay with my family will always be at the top of my list.

When it comes to cons it would be really difficult for me to back out at the last second, because not only are cons really my only vacations that I get during the year (going to school full time and working around 25-30 hours a week does that to ya) but there are also people relying on me to pay for my part of the room. If I had a school project I would likely just bring it with me to con and work on it at night, and work would honestly just have to deal with me taking time off since I cover shifts all the time. The only thing that would interrupt con plans would be if something really major was going on with my family, then it wouldn't even be a question if I was skipping on con or not.

I'm on a journey to find myself in the universe right now.  That's my top priority.  Then family.  Then school.  Music next, then diet, then friends.  Everything else I don't really care about right now.

School is first because it is the only way I will get out of this place (Bend) and the only way I will ever amount to much of anything is to leave.
Family because my family is amazing, and my world would crush if they weren't there to hold it up.
Friends and my lady because they're the other part of my life that holds me up and saves me from all the bullshit that happens.
Cosplay and cons because they're how I blow off steam, and also how I feel good about myself. Not to mention how much fun I have doing it!

Pre-IB studies? I had better be paying attention...
Though I do have my hobbies such as the steampunk lava-lamp phone I have remade, painting, and creating my GLaDOS costume, they all overlap into my electives period. Nothing else really though.

I think most everyone spends more time with real life than anime life. 

I've yet to meet someone that on average spends more than eight hours a day, most of the week reading manga, watching anime, cosplaying, etc.

Things that improve myself in some way are top of my list.  That doesn't have to mean working out, but it could.  Spending time with friends or family; or doing school work, could classify as "improving myself."  After that, is any fun activities.  Like, video games, basketball, going to concerts, TV, etc.

Well, for me, since June, I've been watching what I spend.  Any money I'd get would go to bills first.  Since I recently got my first awesome check since June, I'm still playing it safe, with Halloween preparations being the only major exception.  With my next check, however, I plan on purchasing some long missed additions to my anime/manga collection, as well as getting some nummy Seahawks food when I go up to Seattle for my birthday.

In turns of time, school is trumping work, currently, as if I miss more than a day of school, I fail the class. They both trump sleep, which is why I buy crates of energy drinks Not unusual to see me sleeping 10, 11 hours on the weekend days.

I am glad that my family does not demand much of me, since missing school/work to help or support them would almost certainly bring repercussions.

Well firstly, school is INSANELY important to me. I make sure to never miss a day (and I haven't, I hate having to catch up >.>), but it's a plus because I rarely get sick. Then after school comes family/friends/myself, THEN what I want to do. But in between the school monday through friday, and my free weekend time, that's when I usually plan my cosplay stuff...and I'm also planning on applying for jobs soon enough. So then it'd be school, then job, then family/friends/me =.=

But overall I've been dealing with my mess of what I call my daily schedule. Like, my present to myself for when I finish my Crucible paper assignment is going out to look at fabrics for cosplay. It's a pretty good deal

Great question, thanks. I fanfic/Creation Station first in my life for 8 years, putting off cancer screenings and turning down jobs and honestly 2 marriage proposals because they would've had me move to Arizona or Colorado, respectively. I could've still gone to cons but not led my special project I founded and managed and not with my friends in it. Also I couldn't have moved my Fishie (R.I.P.) & cat. Now my 1st priority is my cat, 2nd my health, 3rd keeping my job, 4th keeping my house, gardens & car, 5th family, friends and partners, 6th Creation Station and/or other work for cons, 7th spirituality and the ecological environment. Might get less done in the con world but will have time for actually hanging out with people and go less broke than many of the previous 8 years. Had some great times, though! :-)

My current Hobbies,Friends and Job searching as usual and when the time comes it will definitely be my job. Other than that it's WoW in my spare time since I have nothing better to do really >.> then cosplay...

For me it would be school then job but sometimes I do think that in my heart it screams people I care about and well thats not very many but I try. I'm also trying to bettermyself from how I was in the past so I can't loose track of that either.
