Dear Diary,
I finished my Crucible work! And uh, got horribly addicted to Dissidia again...and can't wait for the sequel, now. And I want to play with Pots to help her get amazing at it! And props on getting plans down, Deathly Hallows midnight premiere is a-go!
Until tomorrow...

@ Reppy, *guffaw* *nod* Sheba, the chocolate lab I rescued when I worked at a battered women's shelter, held fear (of angry men and things that sounded violent) but did not hold anger. Dear Diary, mentioning rescuing "a chocolate lab" reminds me of Augustus Gloop in the chocolate river in (the original) Willie Wonka. Which in turn makes me think of Roald Dahl and Roald Dahl Plass and thus Torchwood. Now I'm craving cocoa and Captain Jack-Ianto Jones cozy scenes. Ah, well. I was up anyway: My cat just laughed at the memo about how "falling behind" for daylight savings time meant I was supposed to get another hour of sleep this morning. *Yawns* I use Tetris as a verb, btw. As in, "OMG, time to pack for Orycon; how am I going to Tetris all my Copics and craft supplies and cosplay into my car and still have room to drive?" :-O Love, Remy.

Dear Diary, what critter is about an inch long, 2 millimeters thin, black, has tons of milimeter-long legs, crawls slowly, and crunches when smooshed? I have seen 2 in a week, in my kitchen, never seen before. Kinda wiggin me out. Especially as my cat likes to chase them. (Anyone?)

@ Rep: I thought it might be a milipede. It isn't furry like a centipede. Maybe it came in on my shoe when I was gardening. My fear is it could have come from the stuff I brought from my storage unit. *shudder* Dear Diary, My prayer for the week is for perfect health and safety for both me and my cat to make Orycon doable.

Dear Diary,

I just realized there's a big disconnect between how I view myself mentally and how I actually appear physically.  For some reason, I feel physically "small" yet when I look in the mirror, I'm always surprised (in a good way) by what I see.  Now, how do I begin to fix that disconnect? D:

Dear Diary,

I once discovered a frightening and unusual bug in my room.  I thought of moving it outside, then I realized, "wait a minute, this thing is awesome!  It's like a dinosaur bug!"  So I just let it be.  It lived in my room for a while and presumably died a few months ago.

Dear Diary, I have been utterly geeking out for weeks, immersing myself in Doctor Who & Torchwood to prep for Tiptoe Through the TARDIS, my & 3 pals' Creation Station panel at Orycon. It's almost here and I am all butterflies inside. Butterflies, I could handle crawling across my floor. I am not as brave as Tofu in that regard.

Hoping people come & have tons of fun,
Love,
Remy.

Dear Diary, I just had my first 2 cough drops of the season, not for coughing but for the faintest of G-d forbid sore throats.
Please, G-d, help me get through all of Orycon without needing more than a couple cough drops....maybe some green tea....

Dear Diary. I don't know why my dad scheduled my ENT appointment for 9 AM tomorrow but it was very silly of him to do in an endearing way. Silly father who goes to work at 6 AM and thinks everyone does the same! I got up at 4 PM today. However, I think that was mostly because it was the post-con sleep of the dead and we'd had quite an ordeal driving home the night before. Yay for vans breaking down on the highway in Washington! Except not really.
Sorry this diary entry makes no sense,
Jaqua

Dear Diary,
I am finally in charge of something...I am the self-observed Queen of Procrastination. Did I finish my Cassandra-and-moisturizing-minion cosplay/prop prep for my Doctor Who panel? Uh, no. Did I make my mini Dalek cakes for said event? Er, negative. But at least I have a brilliant new penpal. Besides you, I mean.

Dear Diary,

I decided to look up apartments today.
The prices for 2 bedroom make me feel a little bit better about moving out.
Hopefully I'll be outta my parents house by the end of the year.

Dear Diary,
Sitting with my cat on my lap, with her having chosen to come to me and stay with me and contentedly purring up a storm, makes me happier than anything in the world.
How did I ever get by without a cat in my life?
Guess I was waiting for the right one, Kaylee.

Wizard People,
And the baby is left, the baby with the most telling of scars, the baby that is the seed of power, the baby that is the inheritor of the horrible, hoary hammer of the gods, Harry, the wizard who was destined to vanquish all evil, and, if he so wish, bring it back again!

Wizard People,
Ronnie the Weasel shows up and makes his grand entrance to share the compartment with Harry. The proud lad remembers Harry from the platform and takes a seat. In the introductions, Ron is struck with a face almost sacred when Harry introduces himself as the H. P. The scar is called into question. It is shown, and it is wicked.

Ronnie tells Harry that he is a pot-of-coffee-by-day, bottle-of-wine-by-night type of guy.

Harry says, 'Triple that, and you got me.'

Wizard People,

Just as Ron is about to produce yellow pillows, a spell he has learned at home, pillows of gold, he and Harry are interrupted by a horrible creature that is noisily and slowly making its way down the hall and finally appears in the doorway. Only upon closer examination do Ronnie and H. P. realise that this thing is a girl looking for somebody's frog.

Her hair seems to be made up of hair-follicle-sized serpents. A pre-pubescent Medusa. She demands that Ron finish his spell, but, by mere proximity to such a wretched creature, Ron cannot concentrate, and almost kills his rat instead of producing pillows of gold.

She tries to degrade Ron, but only looks stupid. Knowing that these boys obviously hate her filthy guts, she sits down and repairs Harry's glasses with a pretty cool spell. The boys have to admit that this creature posing as a humanoid has some chops. Definitely some chops, indeed. Only after the spell does she recognise our H. P. for who he is.

She intros herself as Harmony and begs Ronnie of his name, but he only growls and smacks in her direction. This prompts her to leave, and, as a last ditch effort to please, she informs Ronnie of his chocolatey nose. As if he did not know.

Wizard People,

Dear readers, imagine a music that describes a nocturnal, heavenly Yes as the children float on the black, still waters, boating up to the castle of Hogwarts School. Harry knows straightaway that this will be a place where he shall surely brandish his wand valiantly. He knows in his heart that this is a stage where he will conjure and conquer the world with his ungodly charisma points. Harry trembles and steadies himself in the reassuring, pasty presence of Ron the Bear.

Dear Diary, Other than the sleep dep and the $160 I have to come up with for my cat sitter (totally worth it for peace of mind), Orycon was EPIC.
Wait, con's over and there's still sleep dep. What's that about?
At least I got more hours in last night than the previous 3...and today I get to hang out with Roget, Jeni & Taco, & possibly see either Scott Pilgrim or Sorcerer's Apprentice.
My cat cuddled me on the couch most of the night, so I take it she has forgiven my unprecedented 2-night absence from this house. Though any time I have moved in the direction of the front door she has perched upon my suitcase, as if to say, nuh-uh- honey, you're stayin'.
Love,
Rem.

Dear Diary, OMG, Scott Pilgrim really is that epic a movie. It is the most innovative specifically because it is the most derivative. Gotta remember that kneepit thing, try it on a future girlfriend.

Dear Diary,
There is so much to squee about that I can *almost* ignore that I caught "the con crud", not even at, but after, Orycon, from dear Ro who was visiting from Cali. Worth it, though.

--Great time with local dear one earlier this week
--HP & The DH in cosplay tomorrow
--Best friend got the job I intuitively told her she would get
--I made a seriously yummy lunch (rice, lentils, tomato sauce, herbs, cheese, baked)
--I have new friends both from KC & from Ory who have become amazing perfect penpals and with some of whom I will probably hang out in person at other cons & such
--An X-files homage and silly stuff coming up on Supernatural tonight
--*maybe* (if I feel better) my buddies' ska band from Bend at a local bar tonight
--and OMG people loved our Doctor Who panel so much that there is now a Facebook group about it and a Facebook revitalization of Oregon's Friends of the Doctor group. I should make like a Linda member and start singing ELO tunes! Don't bring me down.....Bruce!

Dear Diary,

Today, while waiting in line for a chemistry lab, I offered a classmate one of my Burgerville English Muffin egg sandwiches.  He said, "No thanks, I just had a Slimfast."  I felt like punching him in the face, except I was afraid I might break a nail.

Dear Diary! Today was my first day of work and it was kind of awesome! My next day of work is Black Friday though and I don't foresee that being as awesome. Going into work at 4 PM is much, much preferable to going to work at 7 AM. But otherwise today was a pretty good day. Love, Jaqua.

Dear Diary,
Today I was a lazy bum. Yeah, I finally finished Doctor Who: The Complete Specials (even though I haven't seen s4 yet, because it hasn't gotten back to the library yet), yeah, it's overdue, but no, I did not brave the torrent of freezing rain to go return it. Instead, I chatted with many, sent fanfic & original fic to a few on request, got a gorgeous photo from a pal who went to SteamCon, spent hours with my cat, & spent hours putting energy into the Steampunk Film Fest. Well that part, not lazy, but still, you know. So. Yeah. Okay. Up next: Torchwood (s1) Declassified.

Oh and I think I have to slash the 10th Doctor & The Master from the ep The End of the World, Pt. 2. Just sayin'.

Here's hoping the Board comes back from the Retreat happy about, not unhappy about, all the new chatter about & research into distance meeting options.

Love,
Remy.

Captain's log: Dec 1, 6:40 AM.

I rise to the occasion of posting out of being woken up thanks to dehydration and a small ounce of twilight hunger. (mental falcon punch to any movie references)

The day seems to be either a combination of cold, rain, or both as I count the hours until my afternoon of epic roleplaying glory known by its humble name, Amtgard. Though few attend the game days anymore, for outside reasons such as school homework, jobs, or other activities, it's these few that I find equal footing with in swordsmanship and love of the game.

With my newly handsewn cloth sword cover of golden yellow, and two twin swords back from their broken graves, I take my best to the field and charge into heated battle against the demonic forces of the cold winter. I only hope that soon I can scrounge up enough booty to buy myself a cart to carry all that I need down to the park.

End transmission...

@TSJ, that was adorable. My ex was in Amtguard. Boffer fights in garb ftw. Dear Diary, Pals are coming in from PDX for Goth Night. I'd rather be home with my kitty, but at least I get to dress Loli. If I can find a dress that won't be ruined by the torrential downpour. Love, Remy.

Dear Diary,

My bad week started on Sunday and has been going DOWNHILL since then. PLEASE have them put me in a walking cast at the fracture clinic, I can't handle six more weeks of this. T~T

Dear Diary,

Why can't you buy the Halo:Reach Noble Map Pack with real money? Why do Microsoft Points exist? And why is there nothing edible but Progresso soup in my cupboard? I am very upset with the new maps, and it is almost not worth it to even try getting the Map pack, except for the fact Bungie has decided that you can't do the new achievements without it.

The blank achievements are laughing in my face- especially when they are so damningly easy. (Get a double kill with a shotgun)...; A ;

I cannot seem to tolerate school any longer and very much wish it to end already. The constant repetitive schedule of my life is starting to wear down on what little tolerance I have for such things. We need a day where we all go to our classes with a backward schedule. Or let high-schoolers have naptime. The world would be a much happier place.

Why Bungie....why.
