Shoes in the house?
« on: October 21, 2010, 05:57:56 pm »
So I've noticed that some people wear their shoes in my house when they come over. D: I don't really like it, but I know some people do it at their home. So do you wear shoes in the house?

Absolutely not! I actually have friends who laugh when I come over because I take mine off at the door & they don't care...

I wear mine around the house. It doesn't really matter. I always ask about other people's houses, since some people have thrown a hissy fit at me and others just stare awkwardly, but it doesn't matter to me either way.

My mom and I mostly wear socks or slippers around the house but the men keep their shoes on. It gets annoying right after I vacuum or mop the floor. D<

But when I visit other's houses, I always put that into consideration and keep an eye out for rows of shoes near their doors just in case. :3

I wear mine in my house when I live somewhere with floors I can sweep because sweeping's easy, but I take them off in other peoples' houses or if I'm living in a place with carpets.  Exception there is if the place is a sty anyway.

...If my mom see's me with shoes in the house she'll be like
     "GET OUT YOU TRAMP!"

Im only alloud to wear slippers or house flip flops.

I don't really like dirty floors in the first place. I hate it when the floor is all muddy and poopy, sometimes a dash of baby barf-etc...

As an Asian in an Asian family, it is custom NOT to wear shoes in the house, so we kindly ask our guests/friends/family to remove shoes when in the house. Back when I was still in K-12, I just straight out told my friends that we don't wear shoes in the house. I remember they were like: "...Oh....ya don't? OK. *remove shoes* "   :D

As a Microbiology major....haha... yeah... wouldn't wanna think about it. ^.^

I like being barefoot where ever I go. When I take out the trash, get the mail, around the house, etc. Only time I have on shoes is when I have to go to the store or something. I'll even walk out in the snow barefoot. XD My parents think I'm crazy.

For when people visit, they have can have them on as long as they keep them off the furniture, especially the bed. I always have to tell my friends that all the time. It's like they think "It's not my house, I can do what I want." At least with some of my friends it feels that way. Lol

I usually kick mine off as soon as I step through the door. XD
Now that I'm more aware of it... I've noticed that my boyfriend does the same thing.
It's like some weird trail of shoes, haha.

At a house I've never been in before I ask if there's a "shoes off at the door" policy before I kick them off.

At home, my family doesn't mind, though I do take off muddy or dirty boots at the door no matter what. My GF lets people at her house wear shoes only in the tiled kitchen/bathroom area, otherwise it's shoes off before they can step onto carpet.
