What would you love to experience, at least once in this lifetime? Just once, I would like to feel, all day and all night, that I truly got enough real refresing sleep the night before. Just once, I would like to "hear" my cat say she loves me too. Just once, I want to be kissed with as much emotional meaning and passion as the real Captain Jake Harkness kissed his namesake on "Torchwood".

Ok so SPOILERS! Torchwood is a spin-off of Doctor Who, built around his most popular male companion, the dashing, deboinaire, pansexual flirt extraordinaire grifter-turned-hero, "Captain Jack Harkness". He leads a crew of 21st-century humans who save the world by neutralizing alien threats. But doesn't tell them he's a 51st-century Time Agent. He gets trapped in 1941 and meets the real Captain whose name he stole, the day before that man will die. He solemnly, teary, tells his namesake to make this the best night of his life, which leads to his coming out by escorting our flirt to the dance floor. They stun the 1941 crowd by slow-dancing romantically. As our hero is about to return to 2006 or so, he risks being stuck in 1941 to lavish the real Captain with a beautiful, emotionally meaningful, and hot farewell kiss. I don't actually watch yaoi, but that live-action scene was truly lovely. Hence my aspiration to live something like it some day! :-D

Just once, I would like to have a best friend, a true best friend. <3 I haven't really had that many great ones. I mean, they were all nice and had their own pros and cons but I always felt like the only one who was giving... something. (Whether it's appreciation or something along those lines...) I've always been, and still am, the psychiatrist of the group and have never had someone to run to for advice or comfort besides my mom; But that's probably because I cover up my vulnerability and thus, I become too stubborn to ask for someone else's help... So yeah, I need someone, a good friend, who is just as stubborn to break me out of my shell of trapped emotions. ><

@ Fuyuko, I totally relate. I have a Masters in Social Work. Perhaps you can imagine how it feels to be so elated to see an old friend has tried to get in touch for the first time in awhile, only to find out it's for counseling or crisis management or info & referral, after which, no further contact. It's not that I'm not glad to help, just logical to want to be social sometimes as well as helpful.

That is so awesome. It hadn't dawned on me yet, but I wonder if one of the reasons my parents don't like me being involved in cons (knowing about yaoi & yuri prog in the CS) is that "she thinks I'm gonna meet a girl or something"

I have a Midterm to complete by noon Wednesday online and a Feasibility Study due at 5pm Wednesday for the same class.
It's hard to decide which I should focus on more but I decided to work on the paperwork first tonight and do the Midterm tomorrow night and then go back to the paperwork to finish after submitting the Midterm.

Cause I need the paper to pass the class but the Midterm doesn't effect me if I don't pass. If I do pass it just means I don't have to take the final. If I don't, I have to take the final. No effects on my grade.

Just once, I would like to time it so that if I have to be outside during a squall, I happen to choose moments that there are breaks in rain and there are rainbows, so that I don't have to spend the next hour in soaking wet clothes with soaking wet hair or lose any valuable items to the rain.

I'm definitely going to Creation Station's workshops at Orycon on Making Medieval Tunics & Boning Up on Boning (it's actually about making corsets)--not just because I love the panelists, but also because I'm addicted to garb & corsets & can't afford them, so hope to learn to make them.

Yeah, I learned to sew a few years back for LARPs.  I have friends who are really good at it, professionals, and they always help me out and teach me things.  Its also nice cause they give me great rates when I just wanna buy it cause its above my current skill level. 
All and all, I got an odd sorta talent base that might serve me in a post apocalyptic situation (sewing, smithing).

Thank you /hugs back. I lost my childhood best friend this Spring, my beloved Fishie I'd had 12 yrs in May, a former activism and travel companion in Sept. And the 2 human deaths were of tragic causes, while Fishie's I had to watch over time. So just once, I would like for hospice workers and trauma personnel to truly feel appreciated.
