When you think of possible backgrounds for the photos, these will be some of the choices:

• black background - this could probably work for almost any costume
• black background plus whatever objects we bring in
• a living room type set
• a long narrow hallway (just outside the stage area)
• rows of seats in the background (shooting from the stage towards the audience)
• dressing room with mirrors

Yes, we can arrange for a shoot at Sakuracon.  I'll start figuring that out after these 2 shoots are over.

On Jan 30 we will be in the photo studio, so we can put up a large photographic background in a solid color.  Last time we used a dark brown background, and that looks like this, for example:





I can bring my own black and medium-gray backgrounds, and then we can also choose one other color from what the studio has on hand.  So if there is a color you think would be especially good for people's costumes, please let me know and I'll see if that is available.

It is also possible to roll up the background and shoot against the bare wall, which is basically white.  So far I haven't tried that, but it seems like it would work.

Last time we also took some shots in the alley outside the studio after we were all finished inside.  An example looks like this:



That picture looks very green because the opposite wall is green and I was bouncing the flash off of the wall on purpose.

Maybe you could get a ride with someone?  Or if you need to leave early to be sure you catch your bus, you don't have to stay all the way to 10pm, you could leave at 9 or something.

@kristi: first of it's the 30th. they have to run. it's not a holiday hence they only announced about the 31st and the 1st so there shouldn't be ANY problems at all. it's a regular thursday and it should run just fine.

Then go all the way down this alley to the last door on the left:



If you arrive right at 7pm it should be very obvious, because I'll be there unloading equipment from my Jeep and moving it into the studio.  If you arrive late, you may need to knock on the door to be let in.  I think the outer door always locks.

If you are driving there, do not park in the alley, it is only for loading/unloading.  But there is usually parking within 1 or 2 blocks of there.

If you take the MAX there, get off at PGE park and walk towards a McDonalds, that is 19th. (took us a while to find the street...)
And just keep going down the street til you find the studio.

As I offered before, I will be willing to wait for people.
I'm meeting Doe (luvan1me) and Nick (soraandfriends) at 6:30 at the PGE stop going towards Hillsboro. So if you wanna try and meet us then, you may, so we can walk to the studio together. The three of us have been there before as well, so we know very well where it is.

So my parents are super parranoid about the whole thing and say that I can only stay until 7:30, it really sucks. But my mom thinks it's too dangerous espcially since it's late at "night" at a studio with some stranger.
