Just got done from playing full court basketball for about an hour and a half.  Felt good.  Although after the 3rd game . . not sure if I tweaked something under my left rib cage . . or if I took an elbow . . or if it was just from breathing so hard . . but it was starting to hurt, becoming stiff, and it was difficult to breathe/catch my breath at times.

Besides that though, felt great.  I love that feeling after you've thoroughly kicked your own butt at something.   :D

Sounds like you got a side stitch. I used to get them all the time when I was running cross country. You can get them if you don't breathe enough while exercising. Best thing to do for them is to walk around and breathe deeply for a little while until it fades, and then make sure to breathe really deeply when you start playing again. Stretching can help too.

Hmm... weird.  I've had some pain on my side before, always on my left, but it was more closer to my stomach or kidney area.  This was directly under my rib cage.  Or even like, on the very lower edge of my rib cage.  Does that still sound the same?  It wasn't a side ache or anything like that, I've had that plenty of times. xD

So after a lot of issues with my intestines, almost becoming anemic, and having bodily malfunctions due to lack of water...I have decided I need to eat a lot better and get my body back into shape.
I'm not fat but I want to be toned. The first step is to start eating better.
But how do you guys do it?
I don't really know how much I'm supposed to eat a day. I know 8 glasses of water and I'm going to print myself off a sheet to keep track of that stuff but food wise I'm lost.
I have started eating one 90 cal fiber bar a day to help with that and I have been eating broccoli but I also know I eat a lot of junk. I eat more bread than I need (I love bread), it's rare that I eat fruit, and I eat a lot of meat. But...what are the portions I'm supposed to have in a day? How do I keep myself healthy? DX

So I've actually gained five pounds and weigh 120 again.. I've been doing workouts along with running on my paper route in the mornings, but I've been depressed lately and started snacking a lot and not exercising as much. ^^'

I'm feeling a lot more upbeat and happy now though, so I'm getting back on track and watching how I eat now. :)

Also, I slipped on a wooden floor yesterday and hit the back of my head and have a bump on my head that huuuurts. T^T

The famous "8 glasses a day" thing is actually supposed to include the water that comes inside the food you eat. I used to have a problem drinking water and to ease into it I would buy those Crystal Light flavor packets to put in bottles of water, and I started drinking like three of them a day because they were so good. Now I can drink water by itself but that new Mio stuff you squirt into water is REALLY good, my mom buys the purple flavor and it's DELICIOUS.

Also if you don't get enough fruit- go buy a Magic Bullet mini blender and some fruit and make smoothies for breakfast. I did that last summer while trying to lose weight and it was AMAZING. Every day I had an amazing smoothie for breakfast, and sometimes I'd get random fruit like plums or nectarines or pineapple to add a fun twist to my normal smoothies.
Btw my usual ingredients are strawberries, frozen blueberries, and banana, along with mango juice to make it smooth. I used to use yogurt too but we're out right now.

Actually I suggest smoothies to everyone because they're so delicious omg. Plus they're better than like Jamba Juice or whatever because it's just pure fruit without added sugar or weird stuff, but that depends on the juice and/or yogurt you use.

I'm not sure. I got them sort of all up my side, from about my waist to my lower ribcage. I guess if it happens again, you could try to walk it off, and if that doesn't work, talk to a doctor or a chiropractor.

On a personal note, I've been trying to take at least two or three half-hour walks a day. I had to stop doing crunches when I hurt my back, but I'm going to start again soon because they were really having an effect, and I was starting to see my stomach flatten out.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already but doing a five-minute workout or Yoga session every day and keeping it consistent is very effective. It doesn't take up much of your time either; so just keep at it and you will notice changes! Consistency is the magic word. :3

I used to add a lot of ice cubes in my water to make it taste better.  Or, maybe it being so cold made me forget it had no flavor.  Of course, now I drink a ridiculous amount of water.  Srsly.  When I go to a restaurant, doesn't matter if it's just me and someone else, I politely ask for a pitcher of water because I will drink almost 3/4th of it over the course of the hour or so we spend there. ^^;

Every now and then, I will cut up some fresh lemon or lime and add it to my water.  Lately I'm also on this really big sparkling water kick.  Love the stuff.  XD

As for fruit.. wow.. I don't know what to tell you there.  I just love the taste of fruit, so it's not hard for me to eat.  I've noticed I don't like eating fruit as much when it's really cold, so I always keep stuff like apples, oranges, peaches/nectarines, pears, etc. in a basket.  This also has the added benefit of reminding me to eat fruit because it's always right there in the kitchen.

I keep several bags of different varieties of frozen veggies.  I just microwave 'em in a dish for a few minutes and they're ready to go.  I normally eat them with pepper, no salt.  If I want it, I will spray it lightly with some olive pal Pam spray.  Stuff that packs a huge caloric punch but doesn't fill your stomach needs to be avoided. ^^

This can be a sign where you are gaining muscle. Muscle tends to weigh pretty heavy than fat. So it is a good sign. :)

I have a calorie counter on my phone so it helps keep track of what I easy. It also counts calories for work outs too. So I am making sure that I burn more calories than I eat otherwise it doesn't matter what work out I do I won't lose weight. So far I have been eating any where from 1500 to 2000 calories and burn about 2200 a day :)

In Seaside for the weekend which means I've been keeping busy and on my feet..... my friend talked me into doing the 40 minute 'Insanity' workout, I can't remember the last time I sweat that much! We went in the hot tub afterwards though so it wasn't so bad... XD

I am feeling pretty good. The scale doesn't excatly reflect what I feel like I lost but looking in the mirror my stomach looks slimmer I have less of a tummy buldge and that makes me so happy. If I keep this up by the time Kumoricon comes around I will look fantastic!

There's really nothing like lolita clothes when it comes to weightloss motivation...
I bought a new dress recently and it's really tight on my bust, and because I'm so wide the bodice is too short on me too. I also tried on a bunch of my friends' lolita dresses and most of them were BARELY too small in the waist.

SO, tomorrow I need to get back on track. I tried today, but I ended up eating ice cream ]: My new thing is that I eat when I'm hungry- if I wake up not feeling hungry, I won't eat breakfast til I actually want food. The only exception is when I work out, not eating before working out is bad news for me.
Also a lot of the time I'll be hungry but NOTHING sounds good so I drink some water instead and that feels better than eating, I know sometimes when your body is thirsty it feels like it's hungry so I'm trying to squash that >:]

I got my wisdom teeth removed back in January....the first day was horrible, I'm not gonna lie. But all the days after that weren't so bad. It gave me an excuse to eat ice cream every day...hehe. But yeah, other than ice cream I drank a lot of soup and ate a lot of yogurt.

On another note, today was my first time swimming seriously in 8 months, it was not fun at all >__<
The coach made us do 400 IMs, and anyone who has swam knows how horrible those are (unless you're like a mermaid or something)
But hopefully this will get me back into shape before the school swim season starts.

Ice cream can be made non-dairy. You just have to buy it that way. It doesn't have the same taste though. :/
Also, if you slowly eat little bits here and there you can overcome that. It's what I have done. I used to not be able to eat any dairy but I didn't want to give it up so I ate little bits and slowly had more and more (i learned my limits quickly) so I pushed myself to be able to eat more. It's taken years but I can finally eat three slices of pizza in one sitting and not get sick from the cheese. ^^ And I can have a bowl of ice cream, too (not at the same time of course).

For those of you trying to eat well I suggest scrambled egg whites. I normally eat about four of them and there is only 69 calories in four. In four scrambled eggs with the yolk there is almost 400 calories. So that is a HUGE difference.

Man.... I am so freaking stiff.  It's ridiculous.  I've been sore/stiff all week.  I really don't feel like doing anything.  I just went to the gym because they have a larger/stiffer foam roll than I do.  I spent almost 30 minutes rolling on it, trying to hit all my really sore areas.  It was extremely painful and amazing.  But I am still so sore and stiff. ;-;  I just wanna lie in bed all day and asdjgdjkfdjksahdkjsfd.

Update: It's been 6 hours since I wrote this . . and I'm now stiffer and in more pain than I was earlier. xD  I hope I'm feeling better by the morning because Monday/Tuesday are workout days. ^^;;

That looks sort of similar to the cardio portions of my workout.  I find it kind of odd though that his squat thrust/jump seems sort of . . I don't know.  He does it really fast.

There's certainly different ways of doing it . . but I guess like . .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYfNA_lmkHM

Notice how her feet go straight back almost like she's planking?

That's how I do my squat thrusts.

Sometimes I will also do the push-up w/ jump at end, sometimes mountain climber w/ jump at the end, sometimes all three . . it depends on what my exercise guide tells me to do that day. xD

A very simple movement that is pretty tough, and once you've mastered it you can increase its difficulty a lot.

I have been stuck at 135 for as long as I can remember. Today I weighed myself and I was down to 133. I'm so happy! I have been working out so much lately. I would do at least 30 minutes on the elliptical and Friday I got this mini bike (just the peddles) and have been using that while I was at work overnight for about 2 hours total and I am seeing great results.

I think at this rate I can get to 120 by Kumoricon. I also decided I am going to cosplay Askua's plug suit for either Sak or fanime (which ever I go to) so I will need to be at least 120 if not lower to look good in a skin tight suit x.x

You guys are soooo inspirational~

I don't need to loose weight but I do need to tone my stomach and get my fitness up x.x; I'm all sluggish and out of shape! Just standing around makes me ache >< I'm not really sure how to start without over doing it on the first go.

Any tips?

woohoo way to go nikkiolie! ^_^

Today I went shopping with this $50 Kohl's card my sister gave me.  I decided to try on a medium shirt instead of a large.  And wow, the fit is so much nicer. ^^  Large was too bulky and left me looking all frumpy/loose. >_>

Also, I totally just bought a Breville juicer.  Hopefully will arrive by Tuesday.  ^_^  Wednesday at the latest.

Before, I used to be around 125 lbs. Now, I dropped to 119.5 lbs. :D Did 30 minutes of cardio and 30-40 minutes of strength training and yoga. I am working out every day when I come back from college and also manage my eating habits as well. I stop eating around 8 PM since I don't want any food to be converted to fat when I head to sleep.

I believe I read somewhere that food converting to fat during sleep is a myth, but I am not too sure.

I have done an hour on the elliptical so far and plan on doing two hours on the bike at a slow pace tonight. That would put me at burning around 3000 calories and I have eaten about 1500 and probably a little more while working. I'm trying really hard to have between 500 and 1000 calorie deficit each day, that is the only way I am going to get close to my goal by kcon

Well, I think the problem is that you have this food in your stomach.. and it isn't really digesting.. and you're not exactly burning a ton of calories in your sleep..

I've actually heard arguments for and against it.  If you're doing serious weight lifting, I can see the argument for eating before bed.

Today is Day 2 of my new work out.
I did 30 min of Just Dance, with ankle weights on, 15 minutes of Taebo type stuff, a few sets of different ab exercises, and an arm workout with small weights.

I'm going to go out and buy my veggies for my juicer today.  What I'm thinking I'll grab:

Cucumbers
Celery
Carrots
Kale
Apples
Beets

I will let you guys know how things for me.  My idea is to drink 1-2 veggie drinks a day.  Maybe in place of a mid-day snack, or to round out a meal.  I don't really plan on doing any juice fasting or anything any time soon.  I think it would be cool to try a 3-day fast, although to really see any benefits I would probably have to do 10 days.  But, I am not sure of the health ramifications of doing a juice fast that long when I am very physically active.

Some inspiration . .

I'm signed up for a few inspirational/motivational/informational newsletters.

This came across my Inbox today and I felt like it would helpful for people.

Pride makes us feel good – shame makes us feel bad.

New research from the Marshall School of Business shows that when it comes to motivation we’ll do more out of pride than we will out of shame.

Three separate groups of volunteers were put into in a room with a large slab of chocolate cake and told they could eat as much as they want.

One group was asked to focus on the pride they’d feel if they resisted the cake. The  second group was asked to imagine the shame they’d feel if they ate it. The third group wasn’t given any special instructions.

It turns out that the group that focused on the pride of resisting the cake ate much less than those who focused on the shame of giving in. They also ate less than the group who were just let loose.

Pride focuses on the person and success. Shame focuses on the cake and failure. This doesn’t just apply to chocolate cake. It’s the same whether you are escaping from bad habits, improving your health or building confidence.

I weighed 108 lbs a few days ago and actually need to gain weight now because I'm 4 lbs away from underweight x_x stupid stitches in my mouth. I'm back up to 109. I think 110 is a safe weight for me. 110 or 115

Started swimming laps last week. Trying to do it daily, but my work schedule is screwing that up. But even a couple times a week seems to be doing me a lot of good. Just today I swam hard laps for about 20 minutes, and I'm feeling beat. I am already noticing some extra toning in my arms and legs, so I think it's a great addition to my routine.

Weight-wise I'm still stuck around 350, but at least I'm still making progress appearance-wise.

I don't recall eating before bed as bad, but I have heard of it before. What comes to mind is that if you eat a Thanksgiving Dinner, potatoes and carbs, that makes you sleepy and you go to bed within 30min to an hour of eating it, it hasn't processed through you to the intestines really to start good digesting. It's something about if you're sleeping (aka "resting"), instead of moving after eating a meal like that you're telling your body to store it as fat and not process it as sugars, energy, or take the nutrients from it.

I heard something about how you can tell how many nutrients you needed based on the (ew) clarity of your pee >>; Not sure if that's true, but I have noticed it before where if you consume too much of something it stops being clear because your body is rejecting those nutrients. Because for the moment, it has full stores and doesn't need them.

Moving on ward! I did jogging and walking for about 30 minutes yesterday, more jogging than walking, but did walk to cool-down. My calf behind the knee still aches XD Goes to prove how out of shape I am. Anyone know if it's good to still exercise while aching if it's not the day immediately after? It's aching because I'm using muscles I haven't used in a long time, not because they're injured. :/

EDIT
@ Black~Rose :
I take it you had wisdom teeth surgery recently? I lost almost no weight when I had my surgery last spring. I switched between water, apple juice, milk, milkshakes, instant mashed potatoes (of 2 flavors). I became really determined to eat hard food and would attempt soggy cheerios, soggy ginger snaps and swallowing small bits of bananas. I stayed pretty good around 110 for a whole month :)
I didn't get to eat my beloved pretzels until almost 2 months out, but I could start pasta sooner.

So, dunno if it's just timing, my imagination, or what.. but I've lost about 2lbs since I got my juicer on Wednesday.  I've been juicing about 2-3 times a day.  Instead of snacking, I make myself a veggie juice.
