Wow. Your hair is perfect, and I'm usually the type to say "wear a wig" even if the cosplayers hair is close. You look really cute in those pictures, too.

Personally, I think you'd be a really cute Rei Hino, and that's a cosplay I haven't seen around before. I don't know how much recognition it would get, though. And I think you could pull off any of them really well.

I really like the Rei Hino summer uniform. ^^ don't get me wrong. I love the scout version too, but I always see a ton of scouts, and it's harder to find school uniform version. :3 Plus, I love her uniform. ^^

Thanks guys, so many mixed reviews @-@

I did the SM marathon thing a year ago xD Season 1-5 plus the movies and the special episodes that didn't come as part of the season (like the date episode of Michiru and Haruka and Ami's Love Letter) My friend has been wanting me to do it again so she can see all of Sailor Moon, but man I can tell you it wore me out xD

So something that I've always thought was kind of funny about Sailor Moon fans was hearing them whining about the English dubbed version modifying the relationship between Uranus & Neptune. I found this on Wikipedia...

"In the Italian dub, Uranus and Neptune were merely close friends who had a sister-like relationship.

In the French dub, the relationship was explained that Uranus poses as a man in civilian form, and Neptune only pretends to be "his" girlfriend, to help protect their identities.

Most European dubs portrayed their relationship to be merely platonic. The Taiwanese dub also toned down the relationship."

The French one is both the funniest and most logical, in my opinion. I'd like to hear what you guys think about these...

I get they wanted to tone down the "sexual tones" because they wanted the show for for a general age or children audience, but they still could have kept the fact they were a lesbian couple in the show.... Sadly, though it shouldn't be, that's still a "touchy subject" and so for a kids show they didn't want to make that a part of it for fear of parent retribution. (Though personally I don't see why a child should only think men and women can be together) but... *shrugs* that's the mind set for now. I think if Sailor Moon was dubbed today for an adult audience (like to air on Adult Swim) it wouldn't have been a problem at all- the lesbian or sexual theme's. However, years ago even for an adult audience on TV they may have taken out the lesbian themes. Weird... but it's SOME progress right?

I don't think they should have changed it at all. I think they should leave it as the author intended it to be; it's not their work to mess with, it's Naoko Takeuchi's. If people don't want to watch it, then they don't have to.

There was nothing explicit with their relationship; it was just an example of a normal lesbian couple. They're no different than any couple. They kiss, they hold hands, they love each other. Censoring stuff like that that doesn't require censoring simply continues to put forth that idea that it's "wrong".

Vampire! That site is hilarious! My friend showed me it forever ago. I'm glad you linked to it again! It's just so over-the-top about everything and so uptight. This is, of course, almost as extreme as you can go with Bible-following belief. The only way it'd be more extreme is if they followed the rule that women must stay in tents during their periods and take purifying baths afterwards.

I think that for today, even in a children's show like Sailor Moon, the lesbianism would've been in tact.

I'm pretty sure than most churches back then opposed Sailor Moon for many other reasons before Uranus & Neptune were even introduced. The fighting, the transformation sequences, Rei working at a Shinto shrine, a middle school girl having a mad crush on a college-aged guy, the various characters that would act as if they were "possessed by demons," etc.

I say fill out the paperwork and enjoy your panel! They're pretty easy to run, depending on what you're doing. If you're wanting it to be a discussion panel, I'd recommend making a list of the various subjects YOU want to go over and pre-plan what you'd like to say about them. Think of it as running a meeting, but the business at hand is having fun with a 90's cartoon.

If you'd like some help with ideas, suggestions, or questions, I can help you out (or direct you to someone who may be of better assistance than I).
