i was thinking about that since i love designing (drawing generally) and i have come up with alice in bloodyland concepts and i thought, i wonder if they'd go for original characters...? (since its gunna be my first time going to kumoricon)

Yeah, I know that there's others who do that sort of thing. I've met people going as their GAIA characters, altered forms of other characters, the theoretical children of some characters, and other fun stuff like that. Bottom line: if it's cool, unique, and/or well done, you'll get love from fellow congoers.

I've thought about dedicating a whole con to making the offspring of Ranma 1/2 characters. I'd obviously have a Mousse/Shampoo child, but I haven't figured out if I'd do a Ranma/Akane+Ryoga/Ukyo

either crossplaying as this lol, or have sum1 team up with me and she'll cosplay her, and i'll do my version of madhatter i dont really care

now if only i can find some greco and rubber sheets i can start with the weapon now...

I actually considered fashioning up some costumes of my original characters, but I already have so many costumes set for this year that I doubt I'll have any reason to try them. I tend to stick with notable characters because I like being recognized. D: (I guess I like the limelight a little too much...)

I do have an OC costume that I made for a class finished, but it's way too hard to see out of to wear at con. I'd run into too many people.

actually, once i get a group, people would be turning heads coz im aiming a well known theme (alice in wonderland) and equipping em with ginormous weapons XD

hard to carry if its all wood and heavy materials XD
but if you just use wood for the basic frame and everything else light materials like rubber, it wont be that hard to carry really XD

I got super saiyan 3 Pikachu in the development as my only anime related OC. If I can find a Monster Energy hat with just the M on the front again, I can be Zombie Mario.

Other than that I have three primary OCs that I bring out in an epic boffer LARP:
Jason Silverheart the Privateer/Salvager (Yaharr!)
Firebrand the Red Dragon Ninja (yooo!)
and Kreg the Friendly Barbarian (hullo!)

BTW, I just noticed this is in the Skits and Contests Child Board.
Unless someone wants to pull together an OC contest (hint?) then I'd imagine this would get moved to the Cosplay Board itself, just saying.

Hmm, well for me it's not so much original characters but my own designs for that character. Like my Russia Hetalia cosplay (as seen in icon pic) I used a soviet naval officer uniform, which isn't canon at all, but I liked the idea. I'm also planning on making up my own outfit for Hetalia's Ottoman Empire, same with my fem!Zombie from Hanna is Not a Boy's Name (though that will be based on the original design to some extent.)

If i were to do any of my original characters, Id have to have a group do it with me to understand them I think. Cuz, I have Vivian Black from Twilight (Jacob and Nessie's daughter), Astrayl from Harry Potter, Siriko from InuYasha, Mariana, Neo, Luka, and Patrick from Code Lyoko, Kunoko from Naruto, Kitsune from my own story, SadieRae from Wolf's Rain, AnnabellaMarie from YGO, and tons more lol I just dont know all their names. Id have to look them up.

Then, of course, I could do Alyss Heart, my alter ego. But I think shes just a tad bit scary for K-con o.o Plus, there is no way in hell Id be able to make a pair of black bat wings in time for K-con, plus her dress and her blade, and her roses, plus find some way to explain who she really is. Its all just too much to do in only 7 months. Im already not going to have much money to spend anyways. Stupid part time job.

tbh, all of em can be made in 1 month if u just know, this friend of mine

he made skeleton king and abbadon (if u guys are familiar with DOTA, i dont really know their original name in warcraft) in just 3 months with just rubber sheet, some wood, and greco. not to mention my assassin cross armor was only 1 week, altho it was sucky compared to his, it was my first time working with rubber sheet and greco.

im sure we can do something as well.
my point is that, it can work be done, so long as u know how... and the greco to back u up XD

@zenneth yes, but I only know how to sew >.< and make cat ears lol My grandmother usually makes all my cosplays for me cuz Im only just learning how to sew things like pants, shirts, tights ect. I can do dresses, but thats it lol
Maybe I'll plan Alyss for my '12 K-con.
