If you're getting mixed reviews, I personally wouldn't take the risk.

Looking at cosplaymagic's site, a lot of their products make me seriously wtf. They're pretty sketchy; I wouldn't do it.

I personally like cosplaymagic. They're the people who I got my Ichigo Kurosaki cosplay from, and its my favorite of my cosplays along with one of the best looking. Another friend of mine got his favorite from them too, a Sajin Komamura cosplay. I'll admit that some of their stuff is average and some is just ugh, but a lot of their stuff is pretty good too. You just gotta wade through their costumes to find stuff that you like, just like with any other store.

On a side note, they can be expensive. However, they do make up for it by having great shipping times and will bump up the type of shipping depending on how much you spend. My costume literally took a week to get to me, which is awesome considering it shipped from across the planet xD

I got my Soi Fon cosplay from them, and i got it really quickly (given that i ordered it about a month b4 the con). however, it came 2 sizes too big, so i had to fit tailoring it into my work schedule. The material is sturdy tho, and their wigs r fab. just something to think about.

Nonono. Never, ever buy lolita from a cosplay site. Check out Bodyline; it's cheaper and will be better quality. D:

If she's heavyset, then she should commission someone. But cosplay sites are not good places to buy lolita at all. Check out the links on the front page of the lolita thread- Fleur gives good recommendations.

If your friend can afford it, look on eBay for lolita dress sellers. I know a few I've bought from, that can do custom sizes or offer a lot. They also sell shoes, petticoat, and other lolita, gothic punk, and so on types of clothing.

I usually check cosplaymagic and qqcosplay for appearances of costume and how well they look like they'd fit, compared to the ref. And then search on eBay for a week or two to see if I can find what I want.

Thoough the wigs are nice there , they arent the best .
Roys wig took an easy beating the first time 8( it began to fray and the fibers arent top notch like you would get from ebay.

My experience with cosplaymagic was getting good quality but the fitting of the dress was off by 3-5" bigger than needed.
Im not sure with Lolita but Im sure they will add some inches on the measurements so maybe go down on your measurement.

I've never shopped at CosplayMagic but I've shopped at Moon Costumes and I've had good results. I got my Sajin Komamura outfit there and I was pleased with it. Granted I added a few things to it (like boot covers, gloves, et cetera) but I have no complaints.
