He had a heart attach while driving and lost control of the car.  The car leapt a concrete median, veered into oncoming traffic and smashed into a tree head on.

He died from his injuries at largo Medical Center.

His wife was in the car luckily lived.

Allegedly. Toxicology and Histology are still out. Family says Heart Attack, I hear doctors are leaning more towards a seizure of some kind. Due to the way the car crashed, and everything about the scene as well as his and her injuries. It may be awhile before we know.

Coroners report was posted and heart problems were the official cause of death.
Tho I am sure being in a car accident while having the heart attack didn't help, and made it take longer to get treatment.
