Godzilla vs Cloverfield

I think Godzilla has a lot of advantages, though Colverfield does have a few.

In terms of height, Godzilla has been listed as being around 80 meters tall.  Cloverfield has towering over the Statue of Liberty.  If you include the base, that's almost 140 meters!

Godzilla has a lot of experience in destruction and, more importantly, MONSTER FIGHTS!!!  How many monsters has Cloverfield faced?

Godzilla has special attacks, including his fire breath beam thing and a strange sliding thing he does on his tail (which the original red ranger's T-Rex Zord did, too).  As far as I can recall, all that Cloverfield could do was swing limbs and bite.

Godzilla has a very poor flexibility level, whereas Cloverfield is incredibly agile.

Godzilla has friends to back him up when he's getting beat down; Cloverfield ain't got jack.

Godzilla has displayed high levels of intelligence, for a monster.  Cloverfield was just a rampaging thing going off of its "natural" instincts.

I love Godzilla, but Cloverfield would win because of his fleas if nothing else. Enough bites, and Godzilla will blow up like a balloon or PantyStocking villain.

I propose this thread being repurposed as a general Kaiju thread, for that has a lot more possible discussion to have.

So has anyone else watched Big Man Japan? It's a great loving parody/satire of the Kaiju genre. It's on Netflix if anyone hasn't seen it.

Yeah, lol I saw Big Man Japan! It just got way too weird at the end. Lilke they forgot which movie they were making or something. Or they were trying for something like a live-action Gundam. Just one big live action continuity error!

It's most definitely Gojira. Even if he is smaller, he has way more powers than just being able to bash things and relinquish fleas upon the city.

More food for thought: Godzilla has survived suffocation in radiated water (TWICE), he's been frozen over multiple times, trapped in lava for at least a decade, his entire brain has been ruptured, he was attacked by a radiation ray so fierce it melted people in the way, as well as a nuclear attack. The only thing that actually destroyed godzilla was something that destroyed oxygen, which would kill cloverfield for sure.
