Hotel full??

I just tried to book my group's room at the Hilton and it's saying the hotel is completely booked for the Kumoricon dates. Are we SOL for staying at the Hilton, or is Kumoricon planning on expanding the hotel blocks?

Did you call them? Because internet issues is always a possiblity

If it is full you can try the red lion, it is really really close to to the hilton-really the maps don't show how close they are in real life- and con activites will be going on there, and they have mini fridges and microwaves

If ur looking at expedia, it said the hilton was full in like the end of may. Many ppl said that if u called them directly, they still had rooms. By now it may b filled. What u have to remember is it's not just kumoricon ppl booking here, it's ppl who wanna go on vaca (it is a holiday weekend). Just give both hotels a call, sum1 is bound to have a room sumwhere.

The website said full full. I was really hoping to stay at the Hilton since I wasn't impressed with the Red Lion rooms when MEWcon was there. BUT like you said, they have mini fridges while the Hilton does not. I'll go ahead and call the hotel and see what's up! I'll also try emailing the facilities director.

I had this problem the other day, both hotels are out of 4-person rooms, so they only have rooms with one bed. They don't allow more than two people in those rooms.

Anyways I ended up getting a room in the Red Lion with one king bed, it's poolside though so that's pretty nice.

There are still a (very) few rooms left in both hotels.  Tinkering with the nights you are planning to stay may also improve availability.

I have a room booked but I went to the hilton to try and see if it was full and I was able to get another room (I didn't finish it but it didn't tell me the hotel was full)

Ok, so just like Fleur said: after calling the Hilton they only have 2-person rooms with a king bed available. I have 4 people in my group, so I'm not amused. Looks like we'll have to be sneaky about it. :/

With how fast the double beds went, there's dozens of other attendees planning the exact same thing. Buying two rooms my arse.

No, I hear you, believe me. I've been there and done that (almost every year in fact). Fortunately it won't be much of a problem for me this year, though.

I was just pointing out that announcing the intent to "room-stuff" on the forums might not be the best idea, but I was also being pretty sarcastic (because it probably doesn't reeeeeeally matter that much, heh).

I wonder if Kumoricon has control over how many double-bed and single rooms they book when they get their room block. One would imagine there would be a higher demand for double rooms, therefore there would be more available. I really don't think I jumped into the room-booking game here that late, but apparently for the double rooms I did.

Oh, you have no idea how early people start booking now. I was afraid I wouldn't get a room and I was booking my room like 3 months ago. People used to wait for the convention code to be released (which is what I did this year), but by the time the code came out there were already a ton of double rooms unavailable. So, yeah, for future reference, you gotta jump on it, because everyone else will crowd you out if you don't.

REALLY! Wow I'm surprised. Rooms unavailable before the code came out? Crazy stuff right thar. Guess I should just shut up and be glad we got a room at all. Lesson learned indeed.
