Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Setup, help?

ok i know im not the only one on this site that plays the pokemon games.
for those of you who do and go online and play can you please help me?
i have Pokemon Dimond and i would love to able to get online with it and all that cool stuff that i see on the comercials, but when i enter in my WEPkey and it says it will do a connection test it does and i get connection with all 3, then it goes out of signal and says there is no connection move closser. im at the computer desk right by our wifi router box. so im doing every thing right, i even went to the ninteno tech support site and followed all the steps. what am i doing wrong?
please help me

Some connection types just don't work with Nintendo for some reason. This is the case at both my parents' houses, I can't connect at all to the wi-fi we have even though it's totally functioning.

I figured, mine's the same way. It's just a certain type of connection that Nintendo doesn't like on the DS.

If you can access your router's admin controls, you have to go in and change the connection channel or something from 6 to 1 or 11.
After I did that my Wii and laptop are still connecting fine and now my DSi can connect :)

Before when I tried connecting it wouldn't even get past the "test connection" stage x.o It would say there was a perfect connection to locate it and then in the test it'd drop off the map to no signal. After I changed the channel it connected almost immediately.
