Do you know what a filk is? If you've ever listened to "Yoda" by Weird Al Yankovic, you've already heard at least one! Plus, get the rundown on the filking process, and participate in a group write-a-thon as we create our own original filks and sing them together!
Filk It Up!3:30pm - 5:00pm
So, how long has that original song parody of yours been burning a hole in your writing folder? Years? Months? Weeks? Or did you write it a few hours ago at Filking 101? Whether you've been filking for decades or you just set pen to paper for the first time at Kumoricon 2011, this is your moment to seize the spotlight at an open-mic workshop/showcase. Ask for detailed critique from other filkers, or just have fun performing your fannish masterwork for an appreciative audience of fellow otaku!
So, sound off, filkers and filk fans! Who's going to be there? What are you planning to perform at Filk It Up? And for those of you who've seen me perform before, do you have any requests for old songs you'd like to hear at Filking 101?
