Some advice I could give you, if you aren't going to cosplay (or even if you are) talk to people who cosplay from either a show/game/ect. you like or others cosplaying from the same series as you since you have something in common with them.
Don't be afriad, people are con (for the most part) are really friendly.
Its a little late for this con but try going to meet-ups. I have meet all my close friends through meet-ups or through people I meet at meet-ups. Because of those friends I can always find someone to hang out with at con.
Lots of people here have already said they would hang out with you. I would be up for it as well. I like meeting new people.
