Attention Costume Entries for Cosplay
« on: August 30, 2011, 05:59:45 pm »
Just a friendly reminder: when you're packing your cosplays for the cosplay contest be sure to include your costume documentation. (for costumes being judged)

What's this? It's the pictures you used as references when you were making your costume.

Why? Because although the judges are otaku they are not familiar with every costume and sometimes they forget what a particular character is supposed to look like (quick - how many buttons does Vash have on his jacket? *I* have no idea, but if you show me a photo, I can tell you :) )

NOTE: you will be holding on to your costume documentation the whole time - the only time it will be out of your hands is when the judges are looking at it. Thus, you won't have to worry about a valuable art book being lost because you have it with you.

I only have one reference, is this okay? There are no other clear references in existence.

Do we only bring references or do we need to provide WIP photos as well?

Kuhori the Wolf

Of course.  :)
Any format for the documentation is fine - typically people bring the actual items they used as references - books, pictures, statues, etc.

Yes. if that's the reference you used for the costume, then that's the one to bring.

If you have Work in progress photos, you may bring them along if you feel that they'll help show some important features of the costume (the judges will love seeing them, too)   :)
