I've been making a death scythe and used a combination of cheesecloth and mod podge on top of Styrofoam.  It works great!!  made the foam nice and strong.

Umbreon is now presentable! This doesn't mean it's done though..just, presentable...Red 13 needs to be repaired but I found the perfect tie for S.Italy! Altair is being...redone. Thank god kumoricon is in September!

First ear almost done T_T its being a pain in the butt so i am taking a brake =.= If you are intrested in getting your self some ears please contact me in ims this one isent even done it still needs fur around the eges adn on the inside at the bottume and it needs to be folded over o.o as well but its a good looking ear .

Just be careful and turn down your heater a bit.  It gets stuffy in the duct tape.  Also make sure that who ever is cutting you out of it is careful at the small of your back, it's a tricky area.

styled the base of my rapunzel wig thanks to clint. i endend up not slavaging wefts from one with and adding in to the other seeing how INSANELY thick it is ...... so the braid is thinner then perfect but thicker that other wigs its length im happy with how it is more now.... now to get a hord of flowers

2ed one its look more relaist and less costume and its very cute and will work well for you and the charater I think 2 will be the best one for you

I agree, the 2nd looks closer to the color in the picture of her and it looks higher quality than the other two. Plus it's the cheapest, so.

Got the fabric for Dolorosa today! Unfortunately I couldn't find anything good for her cloak-y thing and I still need to get fabric paint, but I'm gonna start on the main body of the dress tonight. I'm also working on Redglare's cane for a friend, and that's coming along, I just need to fill in some cracks on the head, sand and paint, and then attach it to the cane itself.

I sadly didn't make my dress form like I planned, BUT I did get the tank top, skirt and shorts for Rinoa. I also ordered the necklace. So all that is left is the duster, add the zippers to the shorts, the buttons to the skirt and dye my hair a little darker as it gets closer to con. And if I feel like it, the weapon.

I ordered my Venus cosplay and wig. I just need to get the shoes for it and I'll be set. Although, I am considering getting blue contacts as well but only if I can afford it. I ordered a new Keira wig and sent it off to a friend who knows what they are doing ^^;; and I'm going to start Sewing tomorrow =]

I attached the buttons and the zippers to my skirt and shorts for Rinoa. When I get off work I am going to cut the weapon out of craft foam and look for something I can use as the base to put the blade on.

I took a break from my commissions this evening, and started making the lace for Miku's top. Made about a foot and then I realized I messed up so I had to undo it and start over. I have 3" done =A= 34" more to go.

I need to go to joanns sometime this month and pick up the fabrics before the sale goes out if it hasn't already.
I need to grab the paints and stuff from the art shop once my cold is gone.
I need to take measurements and set up a place to work that is dog hair free (Husky's. Bad for costume makers.)

I started Dolorosa's skirt last night, I'll finish that tonight. I'm hoping to have the main body of her dress done by the end of the week so I can do the chest piece this weekend, and then I need to get fabric paint and start doing stripes. Loooooooots of stripes. I still need sheer fabric, too, and to re-glue her horns (probably tonight). I'm gonna order wigs tonight too, and hopefully tomorrow pick up nail polish so I can finish her claws.

So far all I have left to do skeletal wise iissss......16 more bones, 2 more skulls [Cat Skulls], and I believe that's it. Then of course, make the full costume which, unfortunately, will have to all be hand sewn minus the pleather areas.
But I'm so close! These all only took me roughly, 5....6 hours at the most. With the help of friends molding the main base. I did all the bird skulls myself though, and a few of the main shirt bones. I think by the end of this costume, I'll be a little....dead.

For real this time, I am going to make my dress form and I am going to cover everything in resin tonight. I need to do the chest armor sword and sheath for Deedlit and the weapon for Rinoa and I should be done with my resin work.

Alright I made my dress form out of duct tape so I am just about ready for resin. I need to shower first since all this stuff will be in my bathroom and I wont be able to use it. Stupid wind >_<

I use the easy stuff, its just one part resin and one part hardener and then I paint it on with a foam brush and hang it somewhere to let it drip while it dries. Every hour or so I go in and check on it and take off all the half dripped stuff, you know like when its on the edge but hasn't fallen off yet. Its pretty simple. I would love to learn how to make molds and then cast weapons and armor out of resin rather than just covering foam with it.

Anyway all my stuff has resin on it and is drying now. Should be dry by tomorrow morning. :3

I use "easy cast" and "pour on" and the price ranges from $13-35 for the bigger bottles. They have both bottles in the boxes so you only have to pay $13 for both. I think the one I got most recently was $25ish and then there is a bigger box that is about $35.

I imagine before Kumoricon I will probably do a workshop. And you live in Beaverton ^_^ I live off Barnes and Cedar Hills

It was supper easy. I was able to do the front by myself but I had to have my mom's help to do my back. I didn't do a full body, just a few inches below my breast and it took two rolls of tape to do it. So if you want to do a full upper body you would probably need three or more rolls. I then stuffed it with scrap fabric to help it keep its shape (it didn't really need it though)
