Finished three of my costumes for Fanime, yay!
First, my updated pinup Engineer. I fixed up the shirt, got new socks and boots, and got a wig since my hair isn't the right style anymore. This costume is surprisingly comfy, I love it a lot!
Second, Yukiteru Amano from Mirai Nikki! This is the first time I've ever crossplayed, and I was really scared about it, but I'm actually pretty happy with it! I'm glad I picked this outfit because the green shirt hides the curve of my waist and hips (I have a 12-inch difference between them). So, in total I:
-Completely modified the green shirt. Hemmed it a good 6 inches or so, dyed it, and then took the pockets off, dyed them even darker, and sewed them back on, and made the pockets on the sleeves.
-Cut the wig, the back was already pre-styled thankfully haha.
-Completely modified the gun! I bought a toy one off Amazon, but when it arrived I realized it was completely inaccurate and WAY too small, so I bought a police officer toy set from the dollar store which came with a bright orange gun. My friend helped me saw out the middle of the nose of the gun, then glue the tip back on, and then we spray painted the entire thing a metallic black.
The white shirt is from Walmart, the shorts are from Goodwill, the socks are from Ross or something, and then the boots were custom-made from a shop on Taobao.
And then finally, Ritsu from K-ON! I bought the costume from a shop on Taobao, and the same with the wig, but I had to style the wig myself. I'm really awful with wigs, but I'm happy with how it turned out! I just alternated between hairspraying and blowdrying the bangs back, and then put them in a rubber band under the headband.
So much progress! I'm happy, I only need to finish two costumes by next week when we leave for San Jose!
