OFFICIAL PhotoShoot Schedule 2012 thread ~

I know its a bit early. (Like a year) But I all ready see photoshoots poping up for next years con.

So, when you get guess want to, please post in the thread. But later on (like way later) I would say post it in the thread but It may be hard to see. So if it gets over looked and I don't notice please just message me. =)


(Put I dont expect this to be getting alot of info till later.)
And yes, I will be added day zero shoots here.

Day 0:


Day 1:
Harry potter:
Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler): Afternoon, Exact Time and Location TBA
Non-Anime, OC's, and other oddball cosplays: Clock tower, 3:00 P.M
AP: Hetalia: is at the gazibo at 11 am
Pokemon:  Gazibo at 1 pm
Durarara!!: 4pm. At the Gazibo.
Naruto: 11am. Big grassy area to the top right of the park.
iDOLM@STER on the stage in the park, time TBA
D.gray-man 3 pm at the gazebo
Homestuck meetup/possible photoshoot at the gazebo in the park at 4:13p.m.
Kingdom Hearts/Disney: Clock tower 12:00 PM
Yugioh: fountain Gazeibo 12:00 pm
Bleach: place TBA, 5:00pm
Tales of ! series: 12:00, near the water display thing/fountains
My Little Pony Friendship is magic: 3:30 under the gazibo

Day 2:
Silent hill: meet in the lobby of the Hilton - after the cosplay contest
Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler): Afternoon, Exact Time and Location TBA
Non-Anime, OC's, and other oddball cosplays: Gazebo 2:00 P.M
AP: Hetalia: 12:00/Noon meet at the clock tower
Pokemon: Gazibo at 11 am
Naruto: 1pm. Big grassy area to the top right of the park
Homestuck photoshoot at the gazebo in the park at 4:13.
Kingdom Hearts/Disney: Gazebo 2:00 PM
Yugioh: fountain Gazebo 1:00 pm
Marvel/DC: large gazebo, 3pm
Panty and Stocking: time TBA, place TBA
Ouran High school Host Club: time and place TBA

Day 3:
Avatar: the Last Air bender/Legend of Korra 3pm at the park.

Early planning for the photoshoots is a good idea... Then perhaps there can be an official schedule with all the photoshoot locations and times in one location. The reason I say this is because I missed out on the vocaloid photoshoot because I read on the first page of the vocaloid page that it was being held at the red lion plus there were a lot of vocaloids I talked to that didn't even know there was a photoshoot.

Advantages of having an official schedule on the main page:
#1: Increase awareness (including for staff; who also didn't know about the photoshoot when we asked them)
#2: More attendance at meet resulting in more options for creative combinations.
#3: Less confusion.
#4: Better organization.

Problems with this idea:
#1 I doubt that every series gathering could be covered in an official schedule, but the major ones could be on there and then a link to the forums could be provided.
#2 who would be the deciding factor of when and where the meet will take place?

I am pretty new the forum and to the convention so I do not know if anything like this has ever been attempted or mentioned, but I hope the input is welcome and/or helpful.

I tried to keep it tight and organized but there was some confusion here and there.  I updated the thread the second shoots showed up but when con came no one knew what to do with it.  A mod PM'd me and told me to make flyers and leave them at the info desk.  So I did just that on day zero.  On day one though, tge flyers seemed to be not there and no one could tell me where they went.  It'd be a lot easiet to post the shoot schedule in the booklet but people change shoot info. Literally the day before con.  I think if we set a shoot deadline we could ask to put it in the booklet this year.  Just my thoughts on the matter.

^ Exactly, except the schedule should be done at minimum a week before the con... last day changes are a nightmare especially if you don't check or don't have net access to check. That booklet could be posted in PDF form on the main page so you could print it at home too.

I like this idea, putting the photoshoots and locations in the booklet seems like it would work to many peoples advantages.

I know its not their faults or anything but it would also help if the schedule was posted at least a week in advance.  Then people can organize their shoots accordingly.  A PDF posted of the schedule on the main site and on the new app system woulf be suuuuper helpful to anyone willing to take the time to do it.

This might sound a little weird but I would love there to be an obscure/old cosplay photoshoot.  You know the characters that are rare to see.  Those are the ones that I like to cosplay and there was no photoshoot for us old skool cosplayers.  Kind of a hodge podge of sorts.

I'd also like to see a cosplay photoshoot involving vehicles. I doubt many people have the money to make a power ranger turbo group, but I think something like that would be fun, especially if I ever paint my Celica (or buy a Supra and paint it) for cosplaying Inspector Gadget. Could open up possibilities for Kamen Rider or Initial D quite a bit hehe.

The reason the photoshoots are not in the pocket guide is because they are not official events, and we have no control over them.  In the past, we have had the photoshoot list at the Info Booth, but that is the extent of what we can do.

Well, perhaps another option could be to set up a specific topic for the forum called "photoshoot meets" so the dates and times can be organized in there and leave the people who need to talk about their costumes in the cosplay topic. The info booth people at the red lion tried to look it up online and didn't find anything so as long as it is available in some organized way it would be nice. I know it was my fault for not reading past the first page this year because I was unprepared, but I want things to be clear and easy to access so it is not a problem in the future and to hopefully bring in more people who might not read the forums but are interested in going to photoshoots with characters of their own series. This is the thread to refer to to find a photoshoot time/place. Each series organizes the meet(s) in their own thread, or if they're small enough, in this one, then they post the details in here (likely starting in June and running up until right after the schedule is released), and OP edits the first post to reflect those details so others can use the first post as a quick reference.

If they can't get it in the programming guide maybe a printout of the schedule can be put in the swag bags.  Or just have a stack of the schedule available during the registration.

The reason the photoshoots are not in the pocket guide is because they are not official events, and we have no control over them.  In the past, we have had the photoshoot list at the Info Booth, but that is the extent of what we can do.

We did have a copy at the Hilton Info Booth this year (thanks to the organizer), but not at the Red Lion AFAIK. That was my oversight, and I apologize - I kept meaning to get over there, and kept forgetting in the rush.

As stated before, this thread DOES NOT make the photo shoots.  It only posts when and where the decided ones are going to be.  You need to go ask people on the threads about it.

It would, but usually we try to have the bag-stuffing a week or two before con. If people are okay with planning that far ahead, it's all good... but I think it's really likely that there would be enough last-minute changes to confuse people.

If I'm Info Booth manager next year, I'll see what we can do about having an oversize print of the photoshoot schedule at both Info Booths; possibly fliers as well. The fact there was only a normal-size print at the Hilton was completely my oversight, and I'll try to fix that.

I don't think it's too much to ask for people to get their photoshoots scheduled atleast two weeks before the con. Although most people base it off of the con schedule, it's not very good to be posting a week before the con anyways. I think it would be a good idea to make it so that all photoshoots must be submitted 2/3 weeks before the convention or else it won't be posted. But I think that the swag bag idea is the best idea for the photoshoot flyer. :O But that's just my opinion.

It's really fine and dandy to say, but it's close to impossible when you have to schedule shoots while avoiding certain panels.

While the swag bag idea is amazing, it's just not feasible unless you want shoots planned as shots in the dark & suddenly runner-less.

We try to shoot for a few days befor day zero to have every thing planed out?

that way, it will give people time to (hopefully) print it out and keep it at the infobooth?

That way, every one has time to get their shoot set, even after the panel schedule is out, and (If the staff want) It gives people time to print it out?

I think shooting for a few days before day 0 is a good idea, and might give those planning their shoots a bit of time after the official panel schedule is sent out, as well, since it wouldn't do to have a photoshoot for a particular series sheduled opposite that series' panel. (Having the KH shoot at the same time as the KH panel, for instance).  Trying to set an official phootshoot schedule before the panels are set might cause that problem (with the idea of having it done a week or two in advance). I guess it depends on how organized this years con will be, and when they'll have the official schedules up for those planning them to peruse?
