Are they going to be having another Host Tea party this year and if you want to participate, how would you go about doing that? Do you have to sign up or do you just attend?

I havent seen anything for it yet for this year. and usuall its hosted by an already made group, who may ask forpeople to apply if they're missing a character. I'll keep my eyes open to see if they're doing it again this year.

No word back, but I did see that people were planning last year for an ouran panel of how to be a host but moved it to this year, so I message them to see if they were still doing it. If I do not get word back from anyone, I will post on the panel board to see if anyone is interested.

I have the form for it, now I just need to get more information before I completely fill it out.

Oh and, if we are also having a photo shoot, it would be preferable for my Haruhi if the photo shoot was not on Saturday, she won't be with us, she will be with family in Washington for the day. But any other day will be fine, or we have two photo shoots. We also plan to hand out roses or something during Registration, just so everyone's experience is a little more bearable. First con I went to, we were in line for about 2 hours. And we preregistered.

Okay, for those who want to participate in the Hosting panel thing, what days would be preferable? For Spiffygirl101(my haruhi) and I, Sunday or Monday. Last year it was Sunday 10:30am-12:30pm.

It's okay, I'm not good in front of people either, it's understandable. I just love planning events such as this, so I want to make sure I have the whole group for this.

No problem. I'm sure as time progresses you'll find twins. Sometime you'll find them on days before the panal or an hour or two before th panel and can just ask. I know last year The mori they had needed a tie and I had brought my regular ouran cosplay along just incase and let them borrow it.
 You never know whats ganna happen.

I hope everything works out, my mom is even watching the show in case she needs to be there for help, whether it be financial or just moral support.

I plan on hotel catering, but I need to know what the amount it is, so I might call the hotel or email programming again for the cost.

Posted on facebook, now just going to wait for feedback. I'll try to get my Tamaki wig ordered soon, along with Haruhi's. Spiffygirl has an interview tomorrow, so hopefully she gets a job, its the same place I work so I know that it'll be easy to learn. Another thing I want to get is Kuma-chan. I want him(her?) ordered soon just so I am comfortable that they won't arrive late.

I also have my eyes on an Ouran school bag to carry items around. Last time I went to a con, I had to rely on my pockets, thank goodness they were big enough but it looks terrible in photos to have things bulging out of your sides.

Yeah gatta learn as ya go. Get stuff early while making sure you have money for everything else. and always bring a bag. I learned that my first con ever. however last year my friend had to keep carrying my bag cus I kept getting stopped for picture ^^; wont happen this year....hopefully. I got my Haruhi wig now its just a matter of getting the cosplay done. I'm making the female uniform this year. I change it up every year. I've got The regular male uniform which needs to be replaced badly and I have the lobelia uniform which needs some altering. you can see some pictures of them here and see how bad they are XD http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.118082134908305.10258.100001195566362&type=3 My gramma helps me with all my costume and unfortunately she likes to do the easy way on some things which makes it look bad. Also suggestion for the panel as food. Maybe Coffee tasting? and maybe you could even buy some really cheap Ramen and then sell it and give the profits to the convention? or make it a charity to save Haruhi from being poor?

Coffee tasting is a MUST.
This is not as Tamaki, this is a true confession.
I have never tasted instant coffee. I never even knew it existed, even after watching the show. So, my first cup of instant coffee will hopefully be at the convention. I'm a huge coffee fan so, it'll be interesting.
I looked at the cosplays and they look good, but yeah, I understand how taking shortcuts on things could ruin it. I was going to have my grandmother help me, but she currently has all her stuff in storage and I don't think she'd be able to do a big project like making my costume I have planned out.... in my mind... I need to put it down on paper...
I read some of the rules and they said you can't sell food but I think I will have the hotel put tea pots of hot water and have them have cup of noodles at the "food" table. But I'm hoping to have an assortment of pies or tarts and cakes along with many different tea's at each table.
(I also talk a lot... I'm being so Kyouya on this...)

I'm surprised people even went... Not to be offensive but that is a little disorganized
I'm going to be printing up request lists if the panel is accepted, I was thinking about contacting the people who did it last year but their profile said they hadn't been on for quite a few months.
I'm hoping to get at least 2-3 hours so that the guests have more time with the hosts, they can relax and let their hair down and enjoy the company of the Ouran host club. I also have a few "skit" ideas for during, just to keep it fun and lively. I'm hoping to get the Ouran soundtrack so we can also have the music to listen to during hosting.

Well they had a 2 hour spot i think but i think they were trying to find a Mori because they were having issues finding one before. but there were so many people they wanted to get everyone in and because they were running late they had to host quick. My suggestion is make it a ticketed event like they did in 2009. They had 3 different time sets for i believe 100 guests each set. and you were only allowed in if you had bought a ticket. and in between each set there was 10-15 minute breaks for the hosts to clean up take a rest use bathroom ect. I feel like this idea would make it more organized and raise some money for the convention too. I unfortunately didn't get to go in 2009 i was supposed to help with it but lost my ticket on the stairs xp stupid 23 floors of stairs. but my friends had been hosting it and it seemed to go really well. they had sweets and everything.

I think that idea came to mind but now that you actually brought it forward... I think I will make it a ticket event. That sounds more promising and easier to get through.
Thus far, I'm still confused on one certain part of the forms to fill out, and I think that's the part where my inner Tamaki is showing.
Set up and take down time.
Is that specific times or just like, amount of minutes/hour needed to set up/take down?

I still can't decide if I should bring Antoinette.... My golden retriever (real name Richu) or if I should leave him home, he gets lonely without me but I'm worried about if people are allergic. I won't bring him into the host event, for obvious sanitational reasons, but just have him walk around with me.... Or he might get too hyper. You never know with my dogs...

I think you'd be okay so long as you didn't bring him into the hotels or anything. and if you ever questions its always good to contact kumoricon staff or go to the help thread. Also you have to think about how much you want to sell the tickets for. $3 was the price last year I believe and then you have to think about how many guests you'll want to allow each period. because to many can be a hassle. You also have to think of how much food and such you'll need. Also as you already have a Haruhi I can help just kind of monitor the panel with you so long as it doesn't interfere with my other plans. And I might be able to get my kyouya to help host.

Multiple hosts are fine, and if it doesn't interfere with your other plans, even just being there would be a great help. And if you can get your Kyouya to host, that would be awesome!
The hotels are pet friendly, I already contacted them and they said I can keep dogs in my room, but if my brother stays home or my mother, then I won't need to bring him. I will contact the Kumoricon staff about it though, because I might bring my husky for my Ember cosplay (if I get it done), she's better mannered and she would love the attention and the exercise. She'd be better for a convention.
I remember the first year I went, a girl was carrying around a puppy with her cosplay. I think it was... Princess mononoke? I don't remember what movie it was but the staff didn't seem to have a problem with it.
Then again, things might change.
I think I'll have to see how big the tables are and how many hosts I will have before I decide on how many guests. But I will send in the forms soon, I'm almost done filling out. (Inner Tamaki finally realized what it was.)
I think 2$ or 3$ or something cheap will be fine, just so that people who are serious about wanting to go in will do it, but those who aren't serious will be filtered out.

yeah. Id say make it an even $5 if possible easier to give and handle. And I dunno I'd be in female uniform and thats not very host like XD. Unless I buy a new one....if I get a new job{working as a stipend intern currently} Then maybe I'll host. but I think just one original host is more professional. yeah but I was saying out of respect because outside your not in an enclosed space where allergins can get to people like in a hotel.

Well, true. We'll probably have them outside most of the time, only time inside is when they'll be in the room.
If we make it 5$ we'd have to give them quite a while with the hosts... But I think that might be a good idea to help pay for the hotel catering and such.

Ya. And fake ones would probably be better. I'd say spray them with rose perfume but some people have asthma. well if you do a 2 hour spot and three groups that's 30 minutes per group each with 10 minutes in between for the hosts to clean up and take a break. And then that leaves 10 minutes left which you could use the 5 minutes to set up in the very beginning and then the other 5 minutes at the end to do a quick clean up. I might even say just 25 minutes per group that way you have more time to set up the room in the very beginning and clean up in the end. Whoo math lol ^^;

Fake one's sometimes already have a powdery flower smell to them, at least the ones I always find, and I'm going to make sure that set up is going to be quick yet efficient, and everyone(hosts) would probably have to do clean up...

Yes you should defiantly put more description to it. Especially the ticketed part to make sure its okay with them. and That the tickets would probably would be sold at the information booth. I don't know if you can but if you send me the form I'll take at look at it and give some critique

Alright. Got quite a bit for you. Sorry as an intern my job is to pay close attention to details. So First....

Description: Unless you know for sure its going to be catered its best not to put "dine with". Maybe put at the bottom of the description that it will possibly be catered? Next you need to add the fact it will be ticketed to raise money for kumoricon because I don't think they'll let you ticket the event unless it goes to kumoricon profit. and Then put how much you plan to charge per ticket.

Department: Should be both cosplay and Panel.

Time: 3 hours is a bit long, you have to remember that your other hosts may have other things planned and after so long of hosting it will get tiring. And Last year They only had 1 hour or 2 hour spots.

In either the description or in the how many guest will attend: Put it will be in sets and how many guests you'll have per set. {you also need to make sure you can accommodate that many}


Lastly all fields need to be filled out if you cant answer put an N/A; Not applicable.
