Which pleat do I use?!

I am making a skirt for Tohru from Furuba and I'm trying to find out which pleat to use because I see different ones.

i say go with the box pleats not only are they nice but they look better and are easyer to do

Okay. Now to figure out my size. I know the ratio, just need to figure out how big I want the pleats.

This may be a little late, but I'd go with a knife pleat because it's the only type of pleat in the official manga.

I haven't read Fruits Basket, but the pleat in the first image is a box pleat, while the second one is a knife pleat. This image is an easy way to keep them separate. You're right that you should always go with what the original source shows, though!

Also, knife pleats are way, waaaaay easier than box pleats, at least IMO.
