Hey guys

I figured this was as good as any to look for some help. My friend and I are creating an AR (augmented reality) game for Kumoricon to help people find places to eat while they are at the con, but with a plot that takes you places, and we were hoping to get some local cosplayers to help us by giving us picture to use as NPCs. All of the information can be found at kumoriquest.tumblr.com. We need lots of people cosplaying from a variety of things. We want the NPCs to show just how diverse the con-goers are, so any cosplay works

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if I understand what it is that you're wanting. Are you asking people to take pictures in a cosplay at a location in downtown Vancouver...?

@Washougal_Otaku We want to use peoples already existing pictures (or new ones I guess works too) for our game. They can be from anywhere such as a previous convention or a photo-shoot that has already happened. The game will take place in Vancouver (it can be played on a phone) and there will be NPCs around the area that will pop up on the phone when you go to each area. We would like to use local cosplayers as those NPCs. I hope that helped!

@ichigo_m. They don't need to be. I have at least one picture that is from a person photo-shoot that the cosplayer had done. I'm cool with pictures from anywhere. The blog account has better details (the posts about picture submissions were done by my friend who is also working on this). The photos will be used for areas around the con, but they don't need to originate from there.

And I don't know how long you want to wait, but I'll be getting Ice King and Aang done later this summer, if you wanted to wait for pics of them.

You can take any of the cosplay pictures from my DA that of myself, would have to get permission from friends to use their pictures, which I haven't asked them for yet: http://7bijou7.deviantart.com/

Interesting idea.. will submit pics when I actually have some to submit. There's a couple on my DA page, though I have a pretty wide range of cospllays I'm doing this year, including the one found on said DA page.

The irony I see is that there was such a shortage of places open laborday weekend downtown - especially after ~4pm

Also, consider there's been a large gap between last con, and when it was help in Vancouver prior. I'll try and remember to snap a few this time as we explore, but most of us are in the same boat as your target audience: We don't know any good places to go/eat.

@Venusgate The problem with finding food is what prompted us to create the game. By doing some scouting, we found some places. The game is played on your phone and it will take you to the places that we found that were open past 5 on the weekends. Don't worry, we did the research, so you don't need to know right now. I'm just asking for pictures so as you going to find these places (which will be on a map) there can be a cosplayer who shows up and asks you to do a quest for them. I hope that helped

@Washougal I think it's more confusing because 7bijou7 had a typo. NPCs are non-player characters. Meaning the are programed characters. Basically any and all characters that are not directly controlled by the player. (=

@Washougal_Otaku The pictures are being used as NPCs in a game, so yeah we kind of are talking about one

When the player gets to the point on the map, a picture of a cosplayer will appear and have dialogue cues and what not.

The NPCs are pretty clearly marked and will be replaced at some point soon with the pictures that people have submitted. I'll get some video of that when it happens. Thanks again to everyone who submitted pictures, and if you still want to be a part of it, go ahead and submit them!
