So, this is a thread for people to request songs for karaoke, whether they be full versions, off vocal/instrumental, etc. It started off as a topic in the Vocaloid 2012 thread, but seeing as I didn't think it was a good idea to clutter up that thread with this stuff, I thought it'd be a good idea to move it to its own thread.

I'm compiling a library of songs/lyrics on a flashdrive for the karaoke staff to use this year. They've got quite an impressive collection of songs, but frankly speaking, their collection isn't really recent. It also suffers from a significant lack of Vocaloid.

So, if you've got a song you want to sing at Kumoricon this year, please request it with the following form and I'll do my best to find it:

Nope, you're free to bring in a flashdrive/ipod/mp3-player with songs that you want to sing on it. So by all means, bring it in ;u;

Yeah, put them on a flash drive and bring them please ;u; if you already happen to have a list of what you have and wouldn't mind leaving it with the karaoke staff for them to use, then I'll know which songs you already have so that I won't have to go get some.

I will see about getting more Mothy-P karaoke tracks (I don't know why I love those so much). And.. I... I totally have Antichlorobenzene. Somewhere. I made VY1V3 sing it, so I have it, somewhere. If only my voice was a little higher, I'd sing it myself. 

But yeah. I'll print out a couple copies of a list with the numbers for all the songs or something when I bring it. I probably won't grab TOO many more karaoke tracks. Or maybe I will. XD I don't think that what I want will overlap too much with what anyone already has, though I will try to grab popular anime opening and closing songs as much as possible. No clue what you guys already have as far as that goes, but who cares? It's a thumb drive, and I'll have a list for you of what's on it.

I should probably ask: is there a specific file type I should use for the karaoke tracks? Right now they're all WAV, but there's no way those'll fit on my flash drive at 50MB each.

I know MP3 is a common one, and it's about 9MB. MPEG-4 is a BIT smaller than MP3 at 7MB. And I just learned how to make a ring tone. o_O (I'm using an audio converter program to try all of these out.) WMA is 2.5MB. But I don't know what the compatibility is for Windows Media Audio files, so I'll probably stick with MP3.

I'm not sure at what point the sound quality deteriorates... They sound fine to me. But I'm apparently immune to bad quality sounds. My brother has his fancy surround sound headset. Me? I'm fine with the quality of the sound in generic earbuds.

(...What is OGG...? CLEARLY sound files aren't my area of expertise. My computer seems to think it should be video, too. Alright then. It's tiny, though, at 2MB.)

Oh, and I found the Kokyuu/Breath karaoke. Still looking for the other three, though.

Whoosh, my life's been a blur lately trying to finish all my summer work before summer ends xD

I found the original nicovideo of wasureteta, but even after looking on piapro, nicosound, yt, etc. I couldn't find an instrumental for it D: Perhaps the producer didn't release an off vocal for the song.

I'm still looking at those other ones you listed though.

As for file type, ideally stick with either mp3 or wav. wav files are huge, but they are excellent quality (typically). mp3 is sort of the middle ground there. The computer the con staff uses is kind of old as far as I understand, so it's probably safer to just save things as mp3 or wav as they are the most accessible.

so update: my entire house's network pretty much blew up and took the internet with it.
