Just passing on a link a saw.  Something that seems to be a Harry Potter con has announce that they will be in PDX for 2013.  link.

LeakyCon is a Harry Potter convention. I've been trying to find out more about it but all it says it's going to be in Portland next year. I love the Harry Potter series but I don't know if I would pay $140 to go to the convention.

That's actually a pretty good price for a convention like this. Considering they've had the actual movie actors as guests in the past, and I'm sure they'll do that again, it's a pretty big deal.

My sis and I are hoping to go. I want to cosplay something extravagant, but I don't know what or whom yet...

Could someone explain the name of the con, please?  It's one thing that I don't get it, but a couple of my friends (whom have read the books) don't get it either (though to be honest, I think their memories are somewhat poor to begin with, so it might be something obvious to a Potter fan...).

I assume that it is a reference to the "Leaky Cauldron" a Wizard Pub that was the enterance to Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter series.

Harry potter con would be fun, but its not one of my super fandoms bit out of my budget,

They took down the announcement page I'd linked so, so I edited the link to the front page that now had the info. 

June 27th-30th.  $140.  OCC.

Registration is down right now. Wizards broke the internet XD
Apparently too many people were trying to reg within the two days that the site crashed. But they said it should be up again soon.

That never occurred to me but it makes sense. I've never been to a con that expensive
