Ask Hetalia Panel. 2013 ( submitted )
« on: September 04, 2012, 01:38:18 pm »
Alright so after attending the Heatlia World Meetings and other panels this year, it came to me that I  want to run a panel this year.
I want to run a Ask Panel. I'm not even kidding when I say I am completely devoted to making this happen. I've talked to many other cos-players at con and they all said I should go for it, and that they would absolutely love to come to the panel if it was approved.

I am fully committing my self to a Ask panel for Kumoricon 2013. It will involve the Italy, Germany Japan, Prussia, France, America, England, Russia, China. I am serious when I say this is what I really want to do and I will do what ever it takes to make this panel possible!.

We would also like anyone to provide topics here and suggestions! I want to make this happen and make it super fun!!!

Topics
Fast Foods in different Countries
Video Games
Relations between countries

The ask panel will be based on topics that we ask the crowd by raised hands and such. PG 13 of course since some of our countries are minors still. Maybe a little skits, some prizes and some games, some drawings for some fan art and the likes.
Guys I'm completely serious about this!!!! please help me make this happen!!!

yo nando we should include more minor characters
example: hungary austria prussia greece turkey lithuania etc. etc.
so if someone wants to play one of those characters the position should be open

Also an idea for topics and such, what about things like fast food in different countries or video games?

alright, so then should we have the main characters at the table in front and then others sitting in like the front row and they can interact when needed?

Yeah this sounds awesome! I agree with the front row VIP countries and stuff being able to interact when necessary.

And could I perhaps be the attending Hungary?

Oh, and just for silly's sake, could a topic be on the countries relations (ie how they feel about each other, who they hate, etc. ect.) with each other and/or relationships? Just a thought! I really love this ask panel idea! (>^o^)><3
Planned Cosplays (2016):

Toriel (Undertale)
Bee (Bee and Puppycat)
Domo-kun (maybe)

The rest is to be decided...

I'm not sure I get what the difference is between this idea and other Hetalia meeting panels.  Isn't this pretty much how the World Meeting panels are structured?

no. my panel is different form the world meetings.
my panel would have topics and such, as does every panel but the crowd wouldnt be discussing them, they would be asking the characters on stage questions about the topic that we would have to answer in character. there would also be games and random prize drawings. somthing to make it more interesting and pleasing to the audiance

THE HERO IS REPORTING FOR DUTY!!!  8)

I always felt that the world meetings have become more and more exclusive to those who signed up.
This who have the same control of one of each country on stage but we are making to really include the audience

^ Yes. ;D

I'm personally not sure if I have a clear understanding of the differences, at least not enough to justify (to me, at least) a different panel (but then again, it isn't my call to make, is it? ;)).

its easier to think of it this way. world meeting panel and our   ask FACE  panel. world meeting is all and a discussion panel. ask FACE is a panel ware the audience asks FACE (( only france america canada and england)) questions on the chosen topics. discussion verses questions and asking.

I'm gonna be honest. While that sounds like fun, it really only does kind of sound to me like just a more narrow-spectrum version of the world meeting setup, at least when you put it that the only differences would be the characters involved. That's probably not what you intended though. What else might you do that could make it more unique? That could probably draw in even more people. :) I hope you're able to make the panel work! Good luck!

You also have to take in the fact that this is still under much discussion with the FACE group right now.
We are talking about scripts and such along with some secret somethings that will be included in the panel for the audiance.
there will be a signaifacant difference between the world meeting and ask FACE.

What has been said here will be crucial for the Programming department in terms of approving the panel.  They need to see that there's a big enough difference to allow for more diversity in the schedule.

its not real dates. its an improv game thats very fun, we're planning on giving ONE warning for going over the pg-13 rating (for everything that goes on in the panel) and if you act out again we won't tolerate it, and will send the problematic person out. this has been my room for all my family friendly panels. and it will be the same for the pg-13 panel.
its just a game, therefor age doesn't matter. no one actually dates, its for fun for cosplay. you ask in character questions and the bachelorette's respond with in character responses, the bachelors character picks who they like the most :) its just a game. not problematic at all, all acting and improv. only for the game. :) they dont go on an actual date afterwords if that lifts your confusion.

Good luck!

we're also going to have name drawings for chibi sketches~ ^ w ^ and we may play a few improv games including audience members to.

Oh, that could be kind of fun! Anything else?

We're planning to play the dating game ;D

There'd be an age limit on that part, I'd hopefully assume? :)

its not real dates. its an improv game thats very fun, we're planning on giving ONE warning for going over the pg-13 rating (for everything that goes on in the panel) and if you act out again we won't tolerate it, and will send the problematic person out. this has been my room for all my family friendly panels. and it will be the same for the pg-13 panel.
its just a game, therefor age doesn't matter. no one actually dates, its for fun for cosplay. you ask in character questions and the bachelorette's respond with in character responses, the bachelors character picks who they like the most :) its just a game. not problematic at all, all acting and improv. only for the game. :) they dont go on an actual date afterwords if that lifts your confusion.

Oh excellent. Confusion alleviated. Thank you so much for clearing that up! I'm not normally a big panel-goer (but I remember talking to Nando on Day 3 this year about panels so I was thinking of maybe going to this one of hers), particularly because I remember back to when the fanbase didn't seem to really have... restraint so I was worried for bit there. Good, good, this sounds much better. :)

its easier to think of it this way. world meeting panel and our   ask FACE  panel. world meeting is all and a discussion panel. ask FACE is a panel ware the audience asks FACE (( only france america canada and england)) questions on the chosen topics. discussion verses questions and asking.

Good luck!

Alright, if you think it's enough...  I'm still not sure of it, though.

i have also set up multipal panels (at kuronekocon and sakuracon) so we have experiance, not to mention we have multipal people. our panel is going to have sections based off of improvisation, where we play improvisational games.
if that helps, to show the diversity between panels

I would love to attend this, I heard about other Ask a Nation panels and when I read about this one, I was interested. I know many people who would also be interested, whether it's helping set up or actually being in the panel itself. I too, would be interested in actually being it, if possible. I'm cosplaying Punk!Prussia this year~!

We're glad your interested, unfortunately I believe we have somewhat full cast, I believer the only character we're missing at the moment is our russia, because who we originally had is having to drop out.
But I kinda hope the panel will make it through, we'll most likely be doing a pop quiz type thing for prizes, so if we get accepted you may want to brush up on your history <3
