Kumoricon Fabric & Craft swap (2013????)

For 2012 a few of us threw together a small fabric "swap" where we got together at the redlion lobby and let others take our unwanted fabric and other crafty things.

We are hoping for next year to try to get a panel for this "Crafty" idea!

need for panel area: tables & chairs, mic,

Rules (thus far):

~NO money is to be exchanged.
~You're welcome to limit the amount one person can take from you.
~You do NOT have to take items in order to give items or vice versa.
~This would be a fun panal directed towards donations of craft materials to others in need and a great area to talk with others about your own craft projects.

What to trade/bring (thus far):

Fabric (needs to be folded or wrapped up into separate "chunks". would prefer to have it labeled with amount of yardage and width)
Trim/bias tape/hem tape
Yarn (in wrapped bundles of single colors)
Paint (must still be in good condition, properly closed, and sealed in a plastic baggy. we don't want spilled paint do we?)
rhinestones/buttons/knickknacks (if possible have them separated or just welcome others to take the whole bag you have)
beads (same rule as rhinestones)
Patterns (if cut they need to have the size cut to listed and if any pieces are missing that needs to be noted on the pattern)




If you have any ideas or want to help out with this "panel" please don't hesitate to post!

And if you've used any of the paint, at least let the person know. Like chelsea took my fabric paints, but I had told her I had used up most to all of the yellow but the other 3 were untouched.

I think if we could have the panel last for at least an hour that'd be a good idea. Fabric in bins or bags would be good. It sounds like we'll need a workshop room (for the tables) and possibly some tablecloths. Last time I was in a workshop room it looked like a glitter bottle had just exploded everywhere....

Oh and another good thing to bring could be bias tape?

oh i forgot trims and the like >< need to add. we should also bring at least an empty bag in case we want something from others >:3

That's a good idea. We should add to the panel information or something that we aren't responsible if cat/dog/other pet hair/dander is present on fabrics. Or smoke.

Should we add if fabric has been pre-washed or not?
