Went to Nippori, which is Tokyo's fabric district, and grabbed some nice materials and trims for my sweetie to work with.

I scored a number of Blu-Ray and DVD disks of CURRENT shows that are like only one month behind the torrents.
(don't even bring up waiting two years for disks with less fan info and an added, unnecessary dub... :-b )

Just watched the season finale of Ore-Imo on the hotel room TV.

Big building-sized poster of GITS "Arise" series. And a bunch of PS-type and Nintendo game characters, several stories tall.
Saw throngs of drip-boys lined up to get into the AKB48 Cafe Theatre, which is built into the Akihabara station building (!)

A helium-voiced meido handed me a flyer for a maid cafe. I could hardly believe that a human voice box could sound in such a high-pitched yet bubbly timbre.

Got a couple of figurines from a store whose main line of business was selling 4"x5" signed photos of ALL the AKB48 members.

ALL NINETY OF THEM.  Count 'em, anc collect them ALL - at $42.50 per photo!

Now the weekend is gone and it's time for work and after-hours socializing until my flight home.
I may be able to wrangle one more quick shopping stop in Shinjuku on my way to the airport.

But I'm curious... what's the etymology of "drip-boys"?

Kind of my own usage from about 10yrs ago, while shows like AMS was still popular.
We had a term "K-drip" for a certain kind of weak male anime character who somehow
ends up in the middle of a harem. There was one period where all of them happened
to be named Kei-something: Kenichi, Keiichi, Keitaro, etc.

A 'drip' was a term I had heard used (by women)

It may be dated slang.   

I may be able to hit the chara-street within Tokyo station instead of shopping around in Shinjuku for a last slice of anime goodies:

Going this way is always fun because you leave in mid-afternoon and arrive early in the morning of the same calendar day.

I'll have a little over an hour in Tokyo main central station to look for a few last souvenirs (and maybe contest prizes!!) before taking the special to the airport.

And we are at about 42 entries so far.

He bought me FABRIC and trims!  They're awesome. Now I have to decide what to make with them. I even have a bolt of kimono fabric (it's polyester,  not silk, but it's very pretty...) I have the best husband. <3
