One of the greatest Japanese festivals, Tanabata, is tonight! (Well, it's probably about over in Japan... I wanted this to be up sooner... oh, well).
Even with the lack of credibility, Wikipedia's page is pretty amazing -
[size=78%]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanabata[/size]This year, my way of celebrating will be simply this: I have a small bamboo plant, and the four adults living in my home will each tie a wish to the plant, followed by looking at the stars associated with the story (which the herder's star is where I got the name for my son).
