I don't have a facebook and it's exactly because of things like this--because I hate the dependency people have on it for things that already have websites. Plus, people have started threads on here saying they have space and it seems like they never get back to them. It's frustrating.

I am unsure of your exact situation, but if you are driving in from some far off place, and only care about getting close to the convention, I live in the surrounding area. The commute time for public transit is a bit shoddy, but not terrible, and I also have a car.
There is also the option of couchsurfers, for which I can generally vouch.

Also if you want I can post a link to this thread on Face Book on your behalf, that you are looking for a room but don't have a facebook account. (which is fine my hubby doesn't have one either)

Sorry if you have tried this, but have you PMed the OPs? When I had a thread open looking for people to room share with, everyone PMed me instead of posting in the thread (even though I checked the thread daily...), so at this point, maybe people on here expect people to PM them?
