visual kei anyone?
« on: August 12, 2013, 05:48:38 pm »
So, on day 2 I'll have no shoots planned for me until real late, so I thought I'd walk around in vk with my guitar. Anyone else dressing in vk?

No, I'm not. By the way, have you heard of a Visual Kei singer, named ピコ (Piko)?

Eh, not really into the male pop singers..More the rock side..
Things like, GazzettE, Girugimesh, Dir En Grey, D'espairsray, Alice Nine, Vidoll..Uh....lol I know there's more but I think I made my point lol

Anyway, I know a lot of songs on guitar on Girugimesh' "NOW" cd, so I may play a lot of that, though it's tuned REALLY low (if you don't know guitar, it's in a tuning that most JRock is NOT played in)....I know only a few others' songs. I DO happen to know "The World" by, Nightmare (name of the actual song used as the theme song for Death Note), Which is something EVERYONE will recognize lol

Anyway, thanks for the link, just not really what I'm into (from what I read). I really like the female pop though. It just seems better..

Well now I probably won't have the outfit I bought..Bodyline is somewhere I will NEVER buy from again..Very rude people..And they are doing illegal things.
I ordered an item, and accidentally picked the wrong shipping..I get it, my fault, BUT here's where the Illegal part comes in. I emailed them, and asked to change the shipping since it has not been sent yet, and won't be until next week. I wanted EMS which they ship every day, meaning I would get it in time. Oh well, I messed up, I get that, but they told me (quote from the email they sent me):
"> You can cancel your order.> But we have to charge you 100% for handle fee."

As you can see, They said they only don't refund HANDLING FEE. Handling fee is that little extra amount that companies charge to take it to the post office, hince the word HANDLING. They told me because of that policy, if I cancel, they will not give me ANY money back, and tough **** for me..Now, NOWHERE on their site do they ever mention the cost of the item (which would be known as "item price", "Price of item" or whatever, but be specific to the ITEM itself). Meaning they legally have to refund the item because it does not state otherwise, and they do not tell me otherwise. However, they refuse to do ANYTHING and they don't care at all about me, my items, or the fact that I was trying to settle this in a nice way. So basically, they are using a totally different refund policy as an excuse not to refund. All I want to do is change the shipping..I would have gladly just paid them the extra ammount, but they couldn't care less what happens to us. They are being complete assholes to me in the emails, and I will never buy from them again..Because they are not using their own policy correctly, I could easily report them, but they don't care..

Exactly right? Freaking asses.

Anyway, looky what I put together:
http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3420827/
From top to bottom:
-Wig is literally my Akaito wig with my old Kyoko Sakura ponytail clip..lol
-No makeup..Can't crossdress outside my room at home..
-Top is a black camisole. That's about it..
-Arm warmers....Literally sleeves..I knew I'd use them eventually..I cut these off a long sleeve shirt I used for Kirito..The wrist area of the sleeves are what's holding them on..So they are being warn upside down..
-Skirt is just a black skirt my friend gave me..But UNDER it is a pair of shorts I cut into short shorts.
-Leggings are literally the pant legs from that pair of pants I made into the shorts lol Just wearing them the same way as the arm warmers..That way they are bigger at the bottom. They are connected to the shorts much like a garter belt connects to stockings. But I had this stuff left over that looked kool so I used it as straps.
-I don't have Visual Kei style shoes, so I used my normal skate shoes, but you can't see them anyway..

ANYWAY. My bodyline stuff has a tracking number..I guess they already sent it..On their site, they say that they ship every tuesday, then the wednesday after it leaves the warehouse (the day after they ship it) they give you an email with the tracking..I bought it yesterday..Over there in Japan, it was already tuesday morning when I bought it. It was actually 11;30am or so over there. So I figured they wouldn't send it out till next week..Guess I was wrong..All that arguing for nothing..I still might not get it in time, but you never know..

What's your opinion of AN Cafe? I've never listened to them, but I think they have elements of Visual Kei.

I happeedn to find a top outfit. I found this mesh-y type white and black striped shirt with a big open neck (not sure the term) and I'm gonna cut it so it falls off one shoulder. I'm gonna wear my camisole under it (maybe my white one so that you can better see the white on the shirt, but still see the black), and add a black thick strap to the shoulder of the striped shirt in case I wanna wear that with nothing over it.I DID take your dres shirt kinda idea though. I found a white vest that looks exactly like a sleeveless dress shirt, except thicker fabric, and I'm gonna make the corset style lace sides on it.

ok I looked.

I'm using numbers to say what I thought about each one you had in order by what number you had them under.
1. Not bad. They also do a DBZ song..lol
2. Can't stand it lol Totally not me.
3. Like it. It says it's Naruto, so I hate that, but I like the song.
4. not bad.
5 and 6 are the same as the last one..
7. Not showing me anything music related..
8. I swear I've heard that somewhere. Like it.
9. not bad, but more naruto so that's not good for me lol
10. Also not showing anything, but I like all the songs from season one pokemon so..If it's the japanese one, that ones good,

Come on... Give Naruto a chance. If it werent for the obnoxious amount of fillers, it'd probably be within the top 5 best animes ive watched, and its in the top 10 regardless.

Added 2 new pics. I was given an idea buy a coscom member to use a white button up whirt with the sleeves cut off. S I actually FOUND one already like that lol I am later (when I get some eyelets) going to make the sides have laces like a corset (also the coscom users idea). I may also draw on the shirt..

Anyway, I also go a white and black stripped shirt that I angle cut the neck and shoulder so it hangs off. However, I'm not really liking it..

With the white and black shirt:

Without:

Not really liking the way it looks. It's too small to button up. Didn't realize that when I bought it..Forgot to try it on..But hey, it was like $3..

I saw the new pictures, and I have to say you're totally rockin' it.

On the subject, of purchase mistakes, I made two mistakes. Both mistakes have to do with my Len Kagamine Cosplay.

1. Len Kagamine Headset: Foam + Plastic = A PILE OF GARBAGE!!!!!! Wasted $30.

Wasted $30.
2. Len Kagamine Shoes: Too big and uncomfortable. Wasted $35.

Thanks. I don't feel the same though lol I feel like it just isn't "right" ya know? Like it just looks like random crap put together rather then an actual outfit. Things clash a little too much, the only wig I have that will work (the one on me) is completely wrong, that minda stuff..

And trust me, I've wasted worse..

I hope you'll be able to make your cosplay look the way you want it to, by Kumoricon.

Wasting $65 wasn't the worst wasting of money I've ever done. The worst wasting of money I've ever done, was when I wasted about $220 (approximately two brand new cosplays, for myself) on a Facebook game (Car Town). TOP THAT, IF YOU CAN!!!

Uploaded the new pics:
Here's a pic to show the outfit basic front..
http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3422332/
Please don't say anything about the  2 lengths of the ponytails being different..I'm cutting them tomorrow lol

Here's holding the guitar:
http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3422333/

And my now all time favorite pic of me..This was only to show off the side, but I honestly feel like I look GOOD in this one..
http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3422334/
So as you can see, I did the lace up thing. I still have to make it so the armpit area stays closed, but I haen't gotten around to that. I'm going to use 2 vinyl strap and buckles.

Wow, your Cosplay is really coming together. You look great. Would you be willing to perform with me in the karaoke room, on day two?

Thanks but since it's just reason clothes, It's not cosplay..there's no character in trying to be, so it's not cosplaying.

I don't think so lol isn't that for Japanese songs? I suck at Japanese and don't know lyrics to any songs. And I'm not allowed to play guitar there, is karaoke, not American idol.

Oh, my bad. I'm used to saying/typing the word "cosplay".

My Japanese isn't the greatest, so when I sign up to sing a song, I request the full version of the song (band and vocals) and lyrics are provided, if you need them. Also, while playing an electric guitar in the karaoke room is likely frowned upon, playing an air guitar is allowed.

It's ok lol oh btw you seem kool. Please find me and let me know who you are. I'll be wearing vi all day 2 and 3.

Anyway, no no, I can't read another language and sing at the same time..it gets extremely frustrating for me.

Oh well, maybe you could hang out with me in the karaoke room and show off your air guitar skills, when I'm singing.

Maybe. When is it? I might be busy if it interferes with something else..
