Kiki cosplay; just a few questions.
« on: September 21, 2013, 05:20:44 pm »
I am going to cosplay Kiki for Kumoricon 2014, and I have a few questions that I can't find the answer for;

1) If I wanted my cat to be my Jiji, would he be allowed if I kept him on a leash?

2) Would I need to PB my broom?

1) If your cat is a service or therapy animal, you can have them around con space. But I don't know about if they are just a pet.

2) Yes, all props that can be used as a weapon need to be peace bonded.

But I'm not staff so i may be wrong. Though i dun think i am ^-^

When I was Kiki, I didn't have to peace bond my broom. Kiki doesn't use it as a weapon. It's her mode of transportation.

Two years ago, I saw a cosplayer who had a kitten on a leash riding on his shoulder - but I don't know if the kitten was a therapy animal...

I recommend that you e-mail staff and ask them about rules for pets, they would tell you what you need to know. ^^
If all else fails, you can always have a Jiji plush with you as a prop.
