that the selected AMV is NOT selected for a category, it will be shown as an Exhibition entry and
awarded its prize.

(The judges panel may select additional an entry to receive a Special Mention or another honor of their creation. The AMV Contest Coordinator may also select an entry for Special Mention. Therefore, a total of between NINE and TWELVE prizes may be awarded in 2014.) Contestants do not have to be Kumoricon convention members and need not be present at the convention to win.
(NOTE: Kumoricon does NOT have a DRAMA / ROMANCE / EMO category.)
NEW FOR 2014: COSPLAY MUSIC VIDEO (CMV) CONTEST:
This will be a stand-alone category of up to SIX selected entries. This is a fan-made video category of any style or theme, INCLUDING ORIGINAL ANIMATION. One special prize will be awarded. This event may be screened at another location or time, and be separated from the AMV contest, Or it may run within the AMV Contest time-block. I'll be working with Programming Dept. once we see how this category seems to be responding. If we get a HUGE influx of GOOD works, the judges may break the playlist into TWO or more categories and we will award even more prizes. It is also likely that I will convene a separate group of judges for these entries who are more expert in this specific type of fan-created work.
