Kumoricon Badge Names Question

So last year I put my real name on the badge and used my photo id to pick up the badge, However now I do not go by my birth given name and I don't have id with my preferred name.

Is it required to go with the name on your photo id, or can I use my preferred name? But then how will I be able to prove that the badge is mine?

Sorry if these seem like stupid questions, but you got to ask in order to know the answer right?

Last year there was a slot for your real name and a slot for a nickname. The real name slot had to be the same as your photo ID. The badge displays both.

Alright, thanks. I ordered the badges and put my real name on it. I hope one day I will be able to get a badge with my preferred name on it but it might take years. Anyway thank you for the answer!!

You can put your prefered name in the "badge name" slot. That name shows up bigger on the badge and is seen better than the real name on it.


It's like this:


Badge Name
        Real name

That way you CAN have your prefered name on it.

How so? That's what I did last year..I had the "badge name" the same as my username, and my real name under it..

There..How is what I said "not a good idea"? It's literally exactly how I said..The "badge name" is on top in bigger writing and the "real name" is under it in smaller writing..Please explain how this is something you should not do...


Basically YOUR logic is "For security purposes: Do not put a badge name where it tells you to put a badge name"..
