I'm highly ignorant of most things about Dungeons and Dragons, but I would love to learn to play, but alas, I need a group to do so with; one who wouldn't mind putting up with my incessant questions and ignorant blunders. I'm a fast learner, but much prefer having a teacher to get me started in learning something than trying to read a book on it. I learn better by doing. So do it! (I CAN read, and actually quite enjoy doing so, but I prefer to have a base level of actual experience for framework before I hit the books too hard.)
I DO have lots of experience in roleplaying freestyle, like basically a bunch of novice writers getting together and geeking on forums, and since I write fiction for fun, I've done lots of world and character building.
