Pokemon 2015 thread. This time I WILL be running it!! Last year both of my cosplays got ruined before con (Serena was just working at ALL and Sabrina got ruined). I already started my cosplay. I will be a crossover of Pokemon and RWBY. I will be Ruby Rose with Pokemon changes to the outfit.

Question..Anyone going as a gijinka of Lampent? Or want to at least? Wrath-chan and I are most likely doing the other evolution levels (Wrath-chan will be Litwick, and I most likely will have Chandelure), and we would love a Lampent cosplayer to hang out with.

Added. And I feel ya..I'm that way with Akaito (from Vocaloid). I wear him when often when I don't feel like doing a cosplay that get's attention. I carry my guitar around with it so I have something to do..

Chandelure is coming along.
We decided to have weapons too. What's a Pokemon Gijinka without a way to fight? lol We haven't decided on Litwick's weapon yet, but Lampent will have a staff with a flame on the top, and I will have my old scythe..Idk how many of you saw me on day 0 2014, but I wore my OC cosplay to get my badge. I also wore it helping my friend get stuff into the room and out front a lot of people saw and took pics of my cosplay and weapon..If you saw me, I had a black dress and blue pigtails, and a HUGE scythe..I changed my OC's weapon so my scythe is kinda just sitting there doing nothing..So I put a flame on top of it and it's now my Chandelure weapon..Chandelure has a couple slashing style attacks, so a scythe sounds good, and it also has flametrower and other "blowing of fire" style attacks. Perfect for the flame on top of it..

Well what continues to "vex me" (nice word there lol and no offence to anyone, just a personal thing i normally like to do, and it'd be awesome to see otehrs do it), is how trainer cosplayers seem to never have original ideas..No I don't mean "cosplay a trainer that isn't cosplayed often" like yours is..Let me explain before anyone get's on my butt about this..my example is like, that I made a PokeFlute..Come on, I've never seen a single cosplayer with a dang PokeFlute..How different is that? Why have a simple Pokeball when I have that right? I wish I seen more people with more than just a Pokeball or the occasional Pokedex (which is better than having only a Pokeball). i wish I saw maybe a Red with a Silph Scope, or something awesome like that..That's just the stuff I do though..My unfinished PokeFlute is still sitting in my room. i just need to drill the holes, add the mouthpiece and sand it and maybe hit it with some white paint to touch it up..But yea, just me..It's more of a "I'd probably not whip my phone out for an Ash cosplayer that just has a Pokeball, but I'd take it out in a second for a Red with a PokeFlute" kinda thing..Sorry if anyone get's offended by this because I view them as "plain"or something..I don't, you guys are all great.

Oh good you get it haha Most people see me saying that as a "you're a jerk, people can do whatever they want" thing..Like for example, on coscom, I posted that I don't wanna do a leotard for my gijinka Mew like almost everyone else does, becasue I personally don't like the look of them on me..Know what happened after that? I was banished from the ENTIRE Pokemon forum on there..Not one person will talk to me in that forum at ALL..They thought I meant that other people shouldn't wear it and that I was bashing them..I wasn't..I said it looks bad ON ME!!..Not them..And they just kept telling me how horrible I am for "bashing people" that I wasn't even bashing..This conversation is very similar so I didn't know what to expect..

Blackjack, That makes sensem but with them being new at that time, I still think it'd be less likely there'd be cosplays of it. Not as many people (like me) didn't even know about any characters outside of Serena becasue I didn't look them up and didn't happen to see the pre-release art for the other characters. It's much more likely to see cosplays AFTER something comes out becasue more people will have seen it.

Maybe, but it seems some people want to get the jump on everything. I mean, there's usually fanart of any new character in about ten minutes after image release.

Though I can see why people wouldn't want to do Archie's ORAS design because wearing a wetsuit around con seems like it would be a big no for many, many reasons.

LOL at the Archie thing becasue that's basically me right there that you described haha I wouldn't be caught dead in that with how I look lolI do eventually wanna be able to look good in that kinda thing (more like Asuka from NGE, but you get the point)


Anyway, update on myself again..I finally found a problem in mine..Go figure huh..It's not stopping me, I WILL figure something out, but idk what..So you know on Chandelure:

It has those curled pieces, Idk what you'd call them..The things protruding out of it's sides (in one pic they are acting as "hands")..I need to make those..I just want them to be the curled bits..Like on this gijinka:

But my idea did NOT work..I used wire that a wrapped a bunch(I didn't want it too thick so I did what I could without adding a ton on bulk) and the damn thing won't stay curled..The wire is taped onto a ling strip of cardboard..It's too heavy though..If I add more wire it'll just get heavier and not curl still..But less and it won't hold it's shape anyway becasue the cardboard will pull it back from it's curl..So I'm outta ideas..

I found some awesome gijinkas for Chandelure online last night. As well as a Lampent that looks extremely close to Chandelure. So I might take from that. It has an awesome Scythe..So my maid looking version may nor be the one I bring to this con. All depends on what I can do.

I keep flirting with the idea of going as a human Blissey, because I came up with a great design for it. But I suck at drawing and thus can't make a pattern for it, so I'd have to find a dirndl pattern that matches what I have in my head.

Wish I could help ya there. I suck at patterns lol I can draw the character design, but that probably won't help you..
Like I drew my OC out, but I needed to use a pattern I had made for me in order to do it. The pattern I had was for another costume, but she told me how to alter it to be more like the Lolita dress style pattern. So I can totally draw the character design, but someone else needs to make me a pattern lol


Chandelure just needs the wig ponytail thing stubbed and the crown and the back maid bow made and I'll be done.

So....My dress I used for my Chandelure cosplay busted on me..I'll be remaking something else though..Don't knwo..Maybe a big gown..Like disney princess like gown..


Anyway, I may be only doing Chandelure for my private shoot. I really want to make Roxanne from Omega Ruby, becasue it's an awesome design. And I can make a Nosepass statue our of cardboard that's hollow that I can have a handle on the back, as well as little areas to put my stuff.

Actually this is an edit of an edit lol I looked up Nosepass's card (like the trading cards) and it has the height..So I'm super lost, so I'll keep it smaller..

The weird part was I went to the anime for size reference..And the Nosepass on there is like the size of a freaking house..But for some reason the cards say 3ft3in..I'm lost so I made the smaller one..
Also, that nose is obviously not the one I'm using..It was just a strip I had laying around for the hell of it..

The reason I think saturday is becasue I think my Dragonball stuff is friday (depends on the panel host, it'll be the same day as that) and I'm deciding between friday and saturday for RWBY..But likely friday.
So Saturday is a good day for me to be Roxanne all day. The shoes don't hurt my feet so it's fine to do for me all day.

So with no one stepping up to take over, I had an idea..Not the best idea, but it'd kill 2 birds with one stone..
I had the funny idea of Ruby Rose from RWBY, but a Pokemon trainer. I have it all drawn out and I have enough materials to make it. So if I do, I can have both a RWBY and Pokemon cosplay. Meaning I'd have a cosplay for this shoot.
Also, I don't know if I said yet, but there will aso be a Nintendo shoot. That's Saturday. You all are welcome to it.

I honestly think Saturday would be best. For me that is. I still plan on doing that RWBY Pokemon crossover since I have the materials to make it, meaning it won't cost me anything. So I need to figure out when this, RWBY, and Nintendo all will be held. I'm thinking since I'm doing RWBY and POkemon as a crossover, both need to be the same day, and Nintendo and Pokemon should also be the same day..Meaning all 3 need to be the same day..I'm thinking Saturday..The Nintendo shoot is saturday so we could have that near the same time as Pokemon. Like maybe an hour or 2 different.
 So the question is, when? I can do morning/afternoon for both, or evening for both.

Heavily depending on how things pan out in the coming weeks and which day this gathering will be, I'm super interested in attending!

I'm debating which pokemon costume to bring though. It's a toss up between Kyouhei/Nate from B2W2 or Jack Walker from the 9th movie. Jack still needs one or two repairs though (mainly need a new pair of shorts since I've lost quite a bit of weight since I bought those XD...they may be to big to take in...we shall see).

Anyway, I'm KINDA leaning towards Jack since I don't have any actual pictures in that costume...nice pictures at least....-shrug-
