^ Shall know that Amtgard is a worldwide LARP that I love to call OC's in action! You take the role of your own historical or fantasy character and join with others on the field of a park near you to see who is the best fighter with foam swords and weapons. Joining Amtgard requires no fee, only being 14 or older, and signing a waiver (parents must sign for under 18 participants). Though you would be playing tag with foam padded weapons, this is still a contact game and accidents do happen. Games vary from one-on-one duels to last man standing grand melees, team games and tournaments, and last but not least, taking your own character with you dressed in their costume, and playing one of 10 different classes, banded together with others in party against party battlegames. From sword and shield to magic or bow and arrows. From crude and ancient caveman, to 17th century settlers and pirates of the New World, from Native Americans, to Roman centurions, from knights of Europe to Ninjas of the Far East. Whatever character, from whatever time of ancient history or whatever tome of untold worlds, the choice is yours when you play...Amtgard!
