But I need some help. How should I make the shell?

Here we see the lovely Katie Buggs modeling the prototype for a child’s Turtle or Lady Bug costume.  This project was a study on the pattern and materials.  The finished shell would have had web backpack straps and belt with quick release buckles that would have been hidden under Velcro flap covered slits and tucks in the outer costume layer
