I was wondering if Kumoricon will have viewing rooms, where there is always some kind of anime playing. Something with a schedule, diff movies/episodes of whatever. And if so Id like to request seeing card captors the movie 2. I saw it at sakuracon but it was soo good. I have to see it again. And Im sure many others would love to see it too. Who doesnt love CCS?

Kumoricon will definiately have a viewing room.  They've had one every year.  I'm not sure who is in charge of the schedule for them but I'm sure someone will notice this.

And just so long as it isn't the unspeakable American version (I refuse to say the title), yes, CCS would be great.

We will have two anime viewing rooms this year, running from 8am-2am (Sat & Sun) and 8am-4pm (Mon).  A schedule will be included with stuff you get at registration, and we will also post the information outside the rooms themselves.

As far as what is being shown... you are more than welcome to make requests with what you would like to see.  The schedule is not final yet, so if there is something you want to see (fansub or licensed release), post here.  I won't guarantee that it will be shown, but I will take it into consideration  :D

And on another note... sub vs dub:  everybody has preferences, and everbody is entitled to their opinion.  You can make a suggestion, but I don't want this to turn into a war about which is better... so play nice  :P

My Neighbors the Yamattas (sp??) Bah! I can't find this anywhere at all and if I could just finally see it at the convention, I would die a happy fangirl.

Like Daxe said, I've seen those around even at Suncoast.

And I would like to recommend "Asagiri no Miko."  I've read the manga but never seen the anime.  I don't think it's been licensed here.

I feel horrible for asking but.... I haven't seen Gundam Seed and would love to see it if that's possible.  *feels so lost*  I haven't been able to catch it on TV since I work alot and have spent the last 3 years trying to get a publisher and I'm still looking.  It's not going well.  But yeah!

Gundam Seed?

I would perfer to not have naruto playing just because of the fact that the room would be over crowded and people would demand it to play nonstop.....But now say if we played the two movies I think that would be ok. Really anything though would be ok for me  just because I only usually go into the viewing room maybe for like 30 to 40 minutes during the whole con.

The viewing rooms will typically show only an hour of a show (about 3 episodes) unless it's a movie or OVA, then it might be longer... and it is all pre-programmed, so what is on the schedule it what is being shown.  We won't be able to make changes mid-schedule, so any requests need to be made now.

And so far there haven't been many requests... guess I get to show what I want, then...

I would say to show stuff that hasn't been shown before, because if we show Naruto and things like that, everyone's going to see them eventually. I think that 'Cat Soup' is good, as is Gate Keepers 21 and Boogie Pop Phantom.

Here's my list for Fansubs that I suggest:

Fate/Stay Night
TOKKO
Kiba
Dai Mahou Touge
Zegapain
Black Lagoon (Will probably be licensed)
Ergo Proxy (Will probably be licenced)
Ju Oh Sei
Air Gear
Noein
Good Witch of the West
RAY the Animation
Gintama

What I'd really like to hear is if there were any people who attended the First Episode Theater segments in 2004 or 2005.  I know that the room in 2004 was really packed, but I was too busy to observe the room in 2005.

I would reccomend showing lesser-known anime. The majority of us can watch Naruto and Ghost in the Shell on TV, so there isn't much point in re-screening it. I'd like to see more obscure anime. Are you allowed to play fansubs or only officially liscenced anime?

We screen both, and we try to show a little bit of everything... mainstream and obscure, new and old.  We may show some of the stuff that has run/is currently running on Cartoon Network, but we also have a block of First Episode theater, where we show new release fansubs.

I'd like to see Galaxy Express 999, as Netflix doesn't have it, and I am loathe to buy before I try. Sorry, if everyone else has been there, done that.

Galaxy Express 999, the TV series, is available on fansub.  It looks like only the movies were licensed.

There won't be a live action room this year, sorry.  We have 2 rooms showing anime, and 1 room that will be showing J-Rock/J-Pop.  We have a block of Asian Cinema in one of the panel rooms, but that will be it for live action this year.

Hmm, didn't see this before.

My picks:

Noir
Elfen Lied (would probably need to show that later at night, if you don't know why it = bloody. Very bloody)
Samurai Deeper Kyo (I got into it because I saw it at Sakura-con ^-^)
Read or Die (OVA)
Onegai Sensei
Perhaps a Ghibli movie or two.

That's all I can think of at the moment..more later!
