Hey post here any question on notes of intrest about the Red lion Hotel.

The hotel provides free shuttles to and from the Expo Center MAX Yellow Line stop.

They have a pool and a hot tub.

Tennis couts = prince of tennis cosplay shoots.

docks = cosplay alley.

The main desk has water running down the walls. COOL!

If I remember correctly, I believe line 6 also goes by the hotel, or at least within short walking distance

but I'd be dressed as a sailor man who else would be in the photo shoot but sailor girls, (Sailor scouts and mmmmmm Sailor Scout masters) unless there are other star blazers cosplayers.


and i'm not gonna make any jokes about the aunts dressed as sailor scout masters earning merit badges.

and to stay on topic how close is the hotel to OMSI they always have nerdy looking lab assistants at OMSI I go every time i'm in portland

It does. I rode it up there for the meeting. The closest stop would be either: Hayden Island and the I-5 North onramp or right outside that Safeway (right after the bus gets off I-5 and makes a big loop).

Shiv and I rode it back after the meeting and..it was interesting trying to find a stop for the bus going back south. The closest one we found was on the other side of I-5 over near that Target.

Rather far. Though I guess you could just grab I-5 straight down to OMSI so it wouldn't take that long. OMSI is downtown, whereas the hotel is quite literally right on the Columbia River.[/i]

I don't think Trumpy is talking about the one that was near the zoo.  The Red Lion where the con is is along the Columbia (right?).  In any case, the hotel is close to the Oregon/Washington border where as OMSI is in the middle of Portland.

The new one is on the river built about 5? Years ago.  The old one was next to the zoo across the hill from the Japanese garden.  Years ago that was a nice day trip.  Mousy lab assistants at OMSI (with huge lab glasses) then to the zoo to visit the nice civic minded Volunteers at the petting zoo then take the little train to see the Japanese girls in kimonos at the garden then back to the zoo and the petting coral, take in the planetarium at OMSI.  OH I want to be 20 again.

Ah, that one has been there for a LONG time I went there back when I was in like...elementary school (we're talking like 10+ years ago). But now I know what we're talking about
