who's an Avenue Q fan?
« on: May 31, 2006, 11:42:06 am »
I heard "the internet is for porn" at AO in Boise and "if you were gay" at SK in Seattle, I went and downloaded the soundtrack and I'm hooked.
 Anyone else out there?
And now I'm a catgirl?

The voice of the one I love
was all I could hear as I lay broken in the darkness
My own voice faltered
My wings no longer had the strength to fly

I only know one song from it and it's "The Internet is for porn" song.  I remember someone telling me about it while I was in Japan.

By the way, you might be interested in watching this AMV:

I especially like: "The Internet is for Porn"  "I'm not wearing Underwear today" "If you were Gay" and "Everyone's a little bit Racist"

I really need to see that play or at least get the whole soundtrack.
It's awesome.

Ha, excellent play.  At least, judging from the soundtrack. I hope to see it in person someday. If it continues its run long enough in Vegas, I may get a chance to go down there to see it (along with Spamalot).

The Internet is for Porn is one of the raunchiest of the songs, which is probably why it's popular (that, and having "internet" subject matter ensures it will be perpetuated on the internet ;) ). Some of my favorite songs are actually among the serious ones. "What do You do With a B.A. in English?" is great for someone like me who recently graduated from college with a degree that won't get me squat in job offerings; not before grad school. ;P

One of my favorite funny songs to sing along to is "There is Life Outside Your Apartment."  A lot of us here ought to laugh that one, unless perhaps it hits a little too close to home. ;)

I really want to see Avenue Q after hearing the soundtrack! I love the idea of it being puppets, but mature puppets.  Hehe That is definitely on my list of shows to see it is just so funny!
