i think we'll have juice or something too, for those who don't want tea~
i have a heart-shape ice cube maker :D

haven't decided on the whole menu yet :o

- for the "best outfit" competition, everyone in the room will vote for their favorite outfit, and the top 2 with the most votes will get a prize... so i guess wear the outfit you think people will vote for

- door prize drawings will be random, i'll probably do one every 1/2 hour or so (must be present to win)

there will be.

i have a couple people helping, but due to health code/liability and such i'm the only one who can make the food (need a food handler's card). and it's all self-serve~

however, if you'd like to come 15min early or so and help set up, i'd really appreciate that!

Oh, that's awesome!
I understand the food handlers thing, though.
I wasn't able to help with something at school once becasue I didn't have a card.

Well, I'm not sure what I'm doing exactly at that time, but if I'm at the con, and I can get away from people, I will DEFFINITALY be coming a few minutes early to help out. n___n

I just need to know the room when you know what it will be~ :3

And about the outfit~~
I understand. n__n It sounds fun.

I just wonder. I have several dresses that I got at random antique shops...
And then two gothic lolita ones I had made to fit me.

However, I'm not sure what people will think. Will they like the more elegant ones, or the more playful, professional ones?
They're all okay outfits, though...>_<
And of course people's opinions will always differ...
But...

Ugh @ me being self concious. D:

Oooh, door prizes? Do we have to wait until the con to find out what the prizes are? >____<

It's gonna be so much fun~~~

Ugh, I have to vent, you guys~

Does anyone know of the site "lolitasnap.com" ?

Well, I have an account there, and I submitted five photos. They all got declined for one reason or another, but...

...One of the photos I submitted was a full bodied one of a lolita dress.

And the reason it didn't get accepted? Because it apparently "LOOKED" like cosply. [ But it wasn't, is the fact! :D ]

And you know what else?

There is another photo on that site that got accepted.
AND IT IS THE SAME DRESS, FULLBODIED.

Why does another users photo that is the same as mine get accepted, but mine doesn't?

Wtf, mate. That's seriously, seriously lame.
I don't really respect that site much, anymore, if they're going to pick and choose, and not accept my photos because I didn't put

"And this is my $500 dress from Baby~
And these are my $300 shoes from Meta~~
And this is my $200 parosal from Innocent World~~"

In the description of my photo entry. D:

Fook them.

*Angry*

Now I feel bad about dressing in that outfit for the lolita tea party. They got me mad. D:<<<<<<<

Btw: What exactly is the dress code?

Honestly, I just think the person who accepts the photos was jealous of me. : D

I bet she was irritated that she can't draw as well as me, or something. I've had people be jealous of that, in the past. :/

I just figure, I won't use that site, anymore. Not if they're going to be elitist. I can understand the photos NEEDING to be lolita, but when something obviously lolita isn't accepted, that's just elitism.

I'm sorry I don't fit into your constrained little genre~
I'll just have fun with more unique outfits that didn't cost me $700~~

...Omg why can I not help but relate this to school? XD

It's like. They're imagists who don't want to break their little manifesto, and I'm all...BWAAAR FUTURISM! XD

Oh gods, english class steals my brain yet again. @.@

I have a costume like a maid, black and white--it's being turned into a EGL type of thing, with headdress, pale makeup, black lipstick, short boots, stockings.  I wanted to double check to see if it was okay.

is it total whiteface makeup? i really wouldn't recommend it. not even Manasama wears whiteface, just the lightest foundation shade from Shiseido. plus whiteface doesn't look good on ANYONE. also, if the outfit is overly revealing, it wouldn't be considered lolita.

OH this is important: I'm crossplaying.  But I take the costuming seriously as well as for fun.

No it's not whiteface, it's regular makeup "ivory."  Still skin colored but the lightest I found.

I thought I'd have the dress--the sides which are usually on my shoulders, pull them down so the shoulders are bare.  There would be "fake" straps attached to the dress.  If there's too much skin I can always pull the sides back up.

The skirt length is probably right above the knees or a little lower (if the sides are off the shoulder the length will be longer at the bottom).

Anyway I was invited to come by some lady friends and they've seen my outfit before.  It's the kind of outfit I can change or add to have different themes so I 'd thought I'd try a Goth theme.  Can't really afford to get a real EGL dress.

Hmm, I was wondering, if I can find enough, would bringing some paper doiles to the Tea Party be a benifit?

They're just so cute, and you can't serve tea and cookies on anything less!!

My outfit that I'll probably wear to the party is kind of spunky. :(

I'm afraid my more "elegant" outfits wouldn't pass as Lolita enough because some of them are kind of plain. :( *Cry*

Omfg. REAL LOLITA DRESSES!!

I am so unbelieavly excited!! *Sobs to self.*

...Buying such exepsnvie things makes me feel greedy and horrible and undeserving. D:>>

Too bad I won't have them in time for the con, though...

Make him wear short velvet pants like Eddie Munster or Buster Brown

Egads baggy pants and sideways hats.  I'll have you know I only wear my pants one size large for comfort due to a pinched nerve not the 20 sizes larger the kids wear that waste all the denim so that third world children have to go with out pants.  And although I have about 100 hats in steamer trunks not one was a baseball hat and I had to buy one for my costume and it will be worn in the correct manner.   But Pop Racer is not Loli G so I may have to pass as no time to make a Mad Hatter outfit

Ooh, I am jealous! Haha, I won't lie~

How can you afford all of that? o___o

And I must ask, does h. NAOTO still have some of those Yukata for sale?

They are ultra cute! I'd love to buy one. Was it very expensive??

{ And oh, those sleeve stoppers!~ I've been looking for something better than the crappy lace things I altered! I saw those on the Baby site and thought they might be stoppers, but I wasn't sure. Oh I wish I could order them so badly~~~ }

lots of disposable income :D

i got mine from auction so i got a good deal. i doubt they have any more on their site, everything sells out really quickly, plus they don't ship to US

(crossing my fingers on getting some of those things in time for the con x_x)
