I got a lot of suggestions this year. I got told to do Quistis Trepe from Final Fantasy VIII, Aeris Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII (twice), and Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess. I'm thinking of doing Aeris and/or Quistis, nothing against Belldandy though...

Also my friends have asked me to be the crappy useless flute girl from the Sound 5 because they want to do a group so I said okay. Actually, I don't want to offend anyone - I think someone was dressed as her at k-con (with a flute). But I haven't seen the epp. yet so I'm going off what I found online.. which said she was useless. Oh well.

Nifty! I actually thought about going as Haa-chan from Excel Saga, but I don't think I'll be able to pull off her appearance well. The random fits of dying I'm good at, but it wouldn't look good. I really want to fit well whoeve I go as.

Unless it was possible to tear off a layer of the cardboard...I might try to.
Now, to find an origami rose tutorial~

(Oh man, another project! xD; If I go through enough Pocky, and I can succeed in the origami, most likely you'll be getting hundreds of cardboard roses from a short girl next year. xD)

@ Raccon ~ Yeah. That's why I went as my own character this year. :'D Could have pulled off Renge, but Hosts need at least ONE random customer, right?

Riza Hawkeye, I got the uniform alrighty, just need to alter the top so that it actually fits.
Haruhi or Kyoya from Ouran high school host club, depending if I wanna wear glasses or not.
And I'm really gonna try a Ohtori Choutaro cosplay this year, hopefully there will be plenty of Hyotei people there. ^_^
What else...Maybe Orihime from Bleach, but not sure which outfit of hers I should go with...
Last, I want to cosplay somebody with a big weapon! preferably a girl character, cause I don't think I can make a slightly convincing Cloud or Ichigo.

Maybe that wasn't the last, it depends if I get into any other new series, it's still almost another whole year before the next K-con.

We shall call it, the Pocky Host Club! Or Pocky High School Host Club...um...or pocky...hosts...oh whatever

But year, they'll totally be in character

I'll volunteer too, if you need a Haruhi or Kyoya.

Also, here's a good site for instruction on how to fold paper roses. It's really not hard to follow, but you'll need the right type of paper, so I'm not sure is pocky boxes will work. But worth a try.

If it's too difficult to make them using origami means, you could always just tap petal-shaped cutouts from pocky boxes together to form roses. That way you wouldn't have to worry about all the creases which cardboard doesn't take well, and it would probably be a more efficiant use of surface area. However, if it can be done with origami, more power too you all!

On a similar note, I loooove the idea of having Ouran hosts as part of the Pocky Club. I think you really need a good Tamaki, though, to make it really appropriate (he's the most flamboyant one).

I'll make sure to bring it up again in June when the club starts finalizing our plans for the year.

I've downloaded all 22 episodes of Ouran (that I could find) and I've wathed about 1/3 of that. Unfortunately I had my player on shuffle so I ended up watching episode 19 right after episode 4. Luckily I already knew all the characters I needed to.

This show is so great. If I can lose some weight I might be able to pull off one of the characters.

Next years ideas/completed costumes include the following:

Nami: My friend Kitten is going as Sanji, so I agreed to possible be Nami for her. I'm stealing/borrowing Kitten's staff from when she was Nami for 2006. I have the green tank top and the jeans, so I'm set if I do agree.

Random vampire #6 from Hellsing: This was my costume for the first day. My fangs were being evil by the way. So if I do this costume again, I'm getting creepy contacts and better fangs. And proceed to freak people out in my trenchcoat. Rawr!

Blue: From Wolf's Rain. My friend went as Hige (-points at Kyuubi-) and I might do Blue just so he has someone else as a Wolf's Rain cosplayer.

Lulu: Final Fantasy X, yeah yeah. The costume has been in the works since June of 2006. I didn't finish it in time for Kcon 2006, so it is a possible costume for Kcon 2007.

Izzy: She's my black mage from the QQQ. (There was a wolf carrying around a huge sword, he's part of it too.) I have the necklace and the dagger Izzy carries around. I need to buy the corset and that's about all I have to buy.

For the pocky club roses you could always scan a pocky box, print a copy, and just use a regular peice of paper to fold the origami roses. It would be a similar effect but much easier.

I've scanned Pocky Boxes and they turned out fine.

They're alot cripser than if you take an image off the internet because of how pixleated it becomes.

I plan to be Soubi from LOVELESS on the first day and The Count the last two days. I figured I'd try a new cosplay for one of the days next year and something simple. But I'd need to get a good quality wig. I don't want to dye my hair light just for one day then have to dye it black again. Leashy wore a wig that I swore to God was her own hair~!

I've scanned Pocky Boxes and they turned out fine. They're alot cripser than if you take an image off the internet because of how pixleated it becomes.

All I know is that I scanned a jellybean before.
Never laminated or shiny things.
I'll try it with my favorite ever - Almond Crush.

I know that the popularity/awareness of Ouendan was kinda scattered this year, but with the US version of the game, Elite Beat Agents coming out for the DS on November 8th, maybe it'll become more widely known. I think it'd be awesome to have any people interested in cosplaying as characters from either game and having a photo shoot/Cheer off. Heheh... it'd be AWESOME!!! OSU!!!

Well, the only YYH cosplayers I saw this year were a Botan and a Yusuke, so I thought that for the sake of awesome anime, I would go as someone well known and liked from YYH. I have natural hair almost exactly like Kurama as it is, I'd just need to lose some weight and hope I got a bit taller by next con.

Stalkers, hmm...is that a warning not to go as Youko Kurama?

Well, I'm gonna have to save enough money to buy materials for two more costumes, and I'll have to make fox ears and tail, and get a wig for the Youko outfit...eh, so many things to do. I'm getting some stuff now that stores are starting to stock for Halloween, so I can be sure to have something to start with.

I must say I'm concerned, concidering I'll have to get a wig for each costume and y'know... put them together. We'll see what I actually do.

Are you a big YYH fan?

Well, I'm gonna have to save enough money to buy materials for two more costumes, and I'll have to make fox ears and tail, and get a wig for the Youko outfit...eh, so many things to do. I'm getting some stuff now that stores are starting to stock for Halloween, so I can be sure to have something to start with.

big enough, I've been reading it through shounen jump for awhile and I watched the series until life got in the way of most of my computer time.
>.< expenses for cosplay are scaring me too, realistically I'll probably only be able to be two of the folks I want to be. I'd probably make a better Gogo then Myoubi what with my skin being dark*shrug*
