I guess I took that to mean ANY Series. I know its not anime but its not drawn in the US either.

Let's rule out horror/evil-magic shows, druggie worlds that warp reality (Lain, FLCL, Paranoia Agent) or Heian-era armies roving around burning villages (Hakkenden,) and let's also stay away from certain heavily-armed psycho-chicks: Black Lagoon, Burst Angel, - and FAR away from Excel Saga and Pani Poni Dash, just on general principles.

Hmmm, My final answer might be a cheat, but: Day trip to Yokohama's Hon-Ki Dori* district as depicted in Bakamatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto - they were okay with visiting foreigners there, then grab Ichihara Yuuko (xxxHolic,) Michelle Volban (Glass no Kantai,) and some of the dukes of Tytania to come along into Bartender** to round out the evening discussing HEAVY-duty, planet-scorching politics. See if we can set up Michelle with one of those hunks!

*Yes, this is where we get the slang 'hunky dory.'

**Bring MONEY, that guy's place is Top Notch and Ain't Cheap. It's probably in Tokyo's Ginza or Roppongi district.

^ A couple of things - the long unit trains going through Scappoose have to blow the classic
TWO LONGS, one SHORT, one LONG blast on their airhorns there are like SEVEN crossings in town, only a few blocks apart each. One train rumbling on through WILL wake you up at any hour - after about a three minutes of honking.

Then, in about a month, we may get a stupid woodpecker that 'drums' on aluminum gutters or attic vents. Hey, what a way to ask for a date - AT FIVE TWENTY IN THE MORNING EVERY DAY.

We have an interesting way of solving the problem.

^ "Gantlet" and "Gauntlet" are two different things.

I remember "Gantlet" track from model railroading days as a kid.
Where a two-track mainline comes to a bridge ant they're too cheap to widen the bridge to continue two tracks separately, they build a kind of interlaced or crossed-over section that's only a little wider than one track. Of course, trains on the separate tracks can't use them simultaneously.
