< Designing a new Warhammer Fantasy Battles army, based off 300. I pretty much have 1 unit worked out:
Spartans (Rare) 0-1
US 10+
M4 WS5 S4 T4 I4 W1 A1 LD9
Equip: Hand Weapon, Sheild, Spear
Phalanx Fighting: Casualties in close combat cannot excede the number of models in the first rank. Excess wounds are lost. In addition, The front rank can fight with a differant equipment set then the rest of the unit (IE, Front rank uses HW/Sheild, 2nd rank uses Spears)
Defensive Stance: +1 Str when recieving a charge.
Spartan Sheilds: Sheilds provide a 5+ save, as opposed to a 6+ save.
