^ Yes. You should see personal library. I even have a copy of the memoirs of the senior surviving officer of KM 'Bismarck,' WHICH THE AUTHOR SIGNED TO ME. A piece of REAL HISTORY!
< Just finished the most AMAZING glass of wine EVARRRRrrr. It's a 2002 Chateau de Fonsalette, (Cotes du Rhone / Chateauneuf du Pape)
2002 was a 'strange' year and most of the big boys (as in $70/bottle and up vineyards) had a really rough time producing up to their standards. Meantime there's this underdog vineyard whom everybody laughs at because they have a reputation for producing WEIRD wines that usually SUCK. Well, 'a broken clock is right twice a day,' they say, and in that year when all the pros fell on their faces, these guys did ended up with something AMAZING. I mean REALLY STRONG rose, leechee and cherry blossom smells set to a tart, grassy, and mineral taste. I paired this with a Kobe sirloin with a veal scallopini side, grilled in fresh rosemary and a portabello mushroom sauce with cumin, yellow onion, and a dash of apple brandy. Yams and oven-melted goat cheese, and asparagus tips in scallion and olive oil.*** Drink this flowery glimpse of heaven while watching "They Are My Noble Masters" and ... wow ...
... and it's gone now ...
*** and my sweetie made a lovely dessert too.
