Hellboy Sword of Storms, definitely blurred the lines further between anime and American animation. Cels painted in Korea of American design, story used several Japanese myths.

Tonight's anime is a mystery so far. I don't have my Netflix queue memorized.

Was going through Youtube trying to find the songs from anime opening and ending themes. I am trying to amuse my coworker. So I showed him part 1 ep. 1 Elfen Lied.

Watched the Place Promised in Our Early Days http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2324 Man, this is a good one. Well, at least I really liked it. And "shock-u" it doesn't have a really sad ending!

Started Moonphase. I dunno. It isn't bad, but I feel odd watching it. I guess I just feel uncomfortable with Lolita stuff. Story seems good so far though.

If you really have orange hair I guess we will start calling you Leelu (sp?) perfect!

We watched some new show Friday. I dunno but I feel kind of ill watching 10 year old girls, even if they are saving the world.

So I go home and I have Magic Knight Rayearth waiting for me in my mailbox. I saw one episode at the con, and thought it was just a little old as far as the animation style goes. More young girls saving something. arrgh. So what else is in the mailbox. Simoun, more girls, but much more yuri than usual, and they are saving something too. help me. lol

Next up is a couple of the Hellboy animated whatevers.

Hiya Jaybug,  If I read all of your posts I pretty much can see what we have been watching on Anime friday here.  Your 10 year olds saving the world show is Zettai Karen Children.  I think of it as Kiddy Grade meets Combat Butler Hayate.  It is definitely influenced by both of these shows.  Anyway that is one of the shows I have been watching.  Tonight I watched the final episodes of Sailor Moon.  Going to start Sailor Moon R next.  Other shows in my current watch que:

Ask Dr. Rin
Bounen no Xamdou
EVE no Jikan
Glass Mask (2005)
Hidamari Sketch x365
Koihime Musou
Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
Shugo Chara!
Slayers Revolution
Nijuu-Mensou no Musume-The Daughter of Twenty Faces
World Destruction
Zero no Tsukaima - Princess no Rondo

Hmm..Well those are the ones I watch most frequently.  I'd say that's about a 1/4 of my current line up of stuff I need to watch.

Watched Armitage III last night. And thought either this was billed as a prequel, or I watched out of order. Spent most of the movie feeling out of place with it. It took me awhile to just be able to watch and see what was going to happen.

Tonight I think I have Spriggan loaded, and Voices of a Distant Star and Kite on deck. These are a little shorter in length. Am looking forward to seeing them.

man porn? you mean sports? or yaoi? or I don' wannna know??

anyway...Spriggan, it seems like the same old same old now...But I can see that this must have been a Japanese blockbuster movie. The animation was superb! But I would think Metropolis would probably be more what most want from an anime film.

Hmmm, been about a week since my last post here. I've watched Kite since, it was so-so. It got better beofre it ended. Cardboard has more depth. And I am glad we didn't get too graphic, just knowing what he did was enough for my tastes, about how sick and evil the villain was. \

Voices of a Distant Star is another matter entirely. What some series take 13-26 episodes, is done in 20 minutes here. This is a great anime. It is great animation. It's a great short film. Yeah, it got 5 of 5 stars in my Netflix ratings. And it's hard science fiction, not just space opera. I may do more than have rented this title.

Watching Mezzo. It's better than what the impression I got from reading the tag line. The characters keep surprising me with hidden depths. Things are not as shallow as they appear. But they mostly are as shallow as they appear. I am really enjoying the op. and end songs. I can't seem to find the skip button at the start of each episode.

Well currently these:

Clannad After Story  -  Yea, more Clannad!

Toradora -  I liked where this one is going.  2 kids ostracized by their peers because they look like deliquents.

Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka - It is OK, may get better.  A harem anime.

Kannagi - Why you shouldn't go around cutting down sacred trees and giving them to wood carvers.  A new spin on the goddess spending her first time as a human.  Like it so far.

Kyou no Go no Ni - Sort of Azumanga Daiou meets Miname-ke.  A school life comedy.

Ninja Senshi Tobikage - OK, not new, in fact a 1985-86 anime, but a subbing group just decided to do it.  Ninja Robots, yea!  Kind of made me think of Zoids and Voltron.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 S2 - Someone get Dustin a bib, he's drooling again. (Inside joke)

Tales of the Abyss - You liked the video game, now watch the anime.  If you never played the game you may be lost.  Didn't think much of this one, but then I never played the game.  It may get better though.

To Aru Majutsu no Index - GAH!  This anime has no idea what it wants to be.  Looks interesting though.  Future world of paranormal students (Think GetBackers) One student has power of his right hand that negates all other powers, both magical and paranormal.  He encounters a nun called simply Index, who has all of the forbidden magical knowledge in her head. (FMP) They have a small argument about magic being real.  You will like how proving his ability effects her magic.  Anyway, it seems the head magical society wants her dead, or at least contained.  Mages vs Paranormals.  Let the battle begin!

Kuro Shitsuji - Hayate goes goth!  The demon butler.  A comedy for the twisted.  Looks good. (evil grin)

Rosario + Vampire Capu2 - They're back!  Oh, and now the vampire sister makes her appearance.

Another plug for Anime Friday.

If you want to see them as well, come to Anime Friday at my place in Eugene at 7:00pm.  I will be having First Episode Theater.

Finally finished Gurren Lagann. It wasn't as depressing as I thought some people meant. Whew! Saw a few movies over my mini vacation.

I did go see City of Ember. That was a lot better than I was prepared for. I was expecting a rather so-so film. It seems more poignant now that our economy in going in the tank. If you see it, we can discuss, otherwise I think it would leave too many spoiler alerts all over the place.

I started the first couple of minutes of Green Legend Ran. And all of a sudden I feel as if I am watching an earlier version of Gurren Lagann. Even the titles seem related. We'll see.

Watched Green Legend Ran. It felt more like a chore. The sleeve said 1998, felt more like 1998.

Put in Colorful after that. Is this what an ecchi game show is like on Japanese TV? This is for serious otaku only, I think.

Back to Kyo Kara Maoh season 2, again. I thought maybe I didn't get to see all the episodes, guess I was wrong, again. It's still okay to watch a second time, but it isn't doing much memorable. Meaning I probably won't remember what happened until I watch it a third time, and then oh yeah, I remember now.

Got to watch the new Miyazaki film Friday. He still has it.

Watched a lot of other stuff Friday too, I can't remember all the names. Perhaps Wuntvor will fill us all in.

Bought the Naruto Uncut Box Set 10 and have started watching it. Hmmm, as I am continuing on with a story I left off in August, it is a bit hard to get in the same groove I had. That and I have watched 5 episodes, or maybe 6 and I think I have seen only one thing resolved, sort of. Am I losing the love? Say it ain't so Joe!

I think maybe I have watched everything up to where I watched before on Kyo Kara Maoh. Hopefully this week things will be what I haven't already seen. Deja vu all over again gets old ya know?

Well, we did watch Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea as already stated, we also watched AMV Hell 4.  And in our free time we perused the following:

Toradora -  I liked where this one is going.  2 kids ostracized by their peers because they look like deliquents.  This one was a hit, and I have another episode for us to watch this week.

Michiko to Hatchin - Michiko is one bad-ass young woman who has just escaped from a high security prison in what appears to be South America.  Hatchin is Michiko's daughter who was taken in by a Christian priest and his family.  This family makes Hatchin's every day a living Hell.  Happily, Michiko comes to take Hatchin away, and the two escape on a scooter, while being pursued by Police.  This show has a great Cowboy BeBop style OP

To Aru Majutsu no Index - Future world of paranormal students (Think GetBackers) One student has power of his right hand that negates all other powers, both magical and paranormal. I have a new episode for this week.

Kemeko Deluxe! - I want some of whatever the writers of this show are smoking.  This makes FLCL look normal.

Yozakura Quartet - This one has some promise.  An orginization of monsters, each with a different ability, that live in a city that is made up of monsters and humans living together.  Their job is to capture and send away any monsters that don't get along with the humans.  The story revolves around 3 female monsters and 1 male human.  All I can say is that, that is one bad-ass glasses girl.

Shikabane Hime: Aka - The title "Corpse Princess" belongs to Makina Hoshimura, an undead girl who seeks to hunt down 108 corpses in order to go to heaven.  Nice and graphic.

Don't forget Anime Friday in Eugene every Friday at 7:00pm.  Let the watching begin!

I started Hellsing Ultimate 4 last night. And either it has been so long since 3 came out, or I missed 3, I feel a little lost now. I think I will need to do an Hellsing Ultimate night to have a better feel for what is going on.

Finished Naruto Uncut Box 10. I am still surprised when I find a good example of leadership, and of learning leadership. I wonder if 30 years or so from now we'll find some ultra rich businessman, or government person who was a Narutard in their youth. I won't be surprised.

To Mustach, it's been too long since I saw that movie. And for some reason What Planet Are You From? is stuck in my head.

Started Samurai Deeper Kyo. I like this, so far.

I watched a thousand miles of road from Phoenix to here over the weekend. Saw Saguaro cacti, Hoover Dam at night, Vegas Baby!,Death Valley, the Owens Valley: the other supervolcano site. One coyote, one roadrunner, and perhaps one fisher, a member of the weasel family.
